I've always liked Shep too and thought his diatribe earlier today was just him trying to bring us the other perspective (that whole fair and balanced thing) but if that's what he's trying to do, he's failing miserably.

Even Jennifer Griffin, who lives there, and reports from there all of the time, doesn't act like she knows it all...and tells US what the US or Israel should do..or are doing wrong..

IOW..she reports and doesn't commentate.

There are some people who can handle anything with calm controlled finesse, Shep Smith isn't one of them. He does "cute," not in-depth stories, really well.

The same applies for Geraldo. I've always pictured Geraldo watching tapes, now DVD's, of himself with the sound off, fast forwarding past anyone else on screen.
