An Israeli soldier scouts the area near the Israel-Lebanon border, July 20, 2006.
hopefully all this talk about "limited strikes" means just limited to time not necessarily size of force. I really don't think Israel would have deployed all that armor up north and called up all those reserves it they did not intend on using it, doesn't fit the MO of Israel
Tell us again where he is please.
Last president assassinated was René Moawad, assasinated in 89...there was feeling that Syria may have been involved. He was followed by Elias Hrawi who was very pro Syria and Hezbollah, and waa instrumental in getting most Christian and Moslem militias to disarm....except for Hezbollah. He was succeeded by the current president, Emile Lahoud.
I was thinking of Hariri

So it's been a steady political path to arm Hezbollah. Nearly two decades.
He says tht every night. He implies LIVE. Every night it's repeats. It's definitely NOT continuing coverge overnight.
I think the assumption is he wasn't going to be a frontsman for Syria, if Syria was involved. This was at the tail end of the Civil war, and there could have been other scores to settle. Syria had the most to gain by it, because his successor was very pro-Syrian.
Hezbollah has had too long to prepare and is well aware that they will be hit hard...but they also know that the only way the will be removed from southern Lebanon is a massive IDF ground invasion.
They are counting on it....and waiting to inflict the maximum damage...regardless of the probable annihilation of their forces there.
This is a grand strategy...we know it...the IDF knows it...but there is no other choice. And wiping out Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and Bekaa will not end their existence.
Who or what is Hezbollah...a Palestinian entity....a Lebanese entity...and Islamo-Fascist entity....a cat's paw of Syria and Iran...all of the above. And in that fact lies their strength.
We are in World War III....what's happening in southern Lebanon is only the beginning of much greater conflict to come. And we better wake up to the fact that it will come.
That is pretty frightening.
What did the "investigation" ultimately show?
They're getting ready to go in and destroy Hezbollah's tunnel system with a large force. This time they will only visit Lebanon and not stay. It's a tough job but somebody has to do it.
I hope their sources gave them a head-fake.
That would be okay, if they repeated Jennifer's, Mike's, and Bill's news stories instead of Shep's whiney op-eds on "Hezbollah the social service agency" and "the poor victimized refugees in Gaza"...
Many of Fox's regulars are doing a great job -- Jennifer Griffin, in particular -- but Shemp seems to be on a mission to prove he can eclipse his Katrina hysterics without help from Geraldo...
