Typical! It appears to have been many more demonstrators aganist Israel in Berlin than in Amman or Cairo.
Nothing against Germany in particular, just a usual Friday evening entertainment in an ordinary European capital.

I suspect that Dr. Rice is in no hurry to put a peace plan on the table.
The rhetoric out of Tehran has gone mostly silent, could be they are retreating from claims they will not permit Hezbollah to be disarmed, to avoid losing face, could be they have decided that talk alone will not achieve their objectives.

Halutz: Hizbullah loses 100 fighters

"The fighting in Lebanon has cost the Hizbullah a high price," IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz said on Friday evening. "About 100 Hizbullah fighters were killed in IDF operations."
Speaking to reporters about the fighting in the North and in the Gaza Strip, Halutz said that the two facts that "the Hizbullah does not publish its dead or damage and has lied to the media are indicative [of its condition]."

Update on Bolton nomination. Check out Joe Biden and Harry Reid. Just goes to show their support for Israel is B.S.
Bolton said he had spoken to Voinovich over many months on UN reform and other issues. ‘We have been in quite regular touch in the course of the past year and obviously I am very glad of his decision,’ Bolton said.
White House officials said Bolton had already been re nominated and officials are discussing whether the committee should hold a hearing on him or simply seek a vote.
But Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, the Foreign Relations Committee`s senior Democrat, said the Senate should not vote on Bolton unless the White House turns over documents that the Democrats sought on his nomination last year.
Biden also said Bolton`s UN performance "confirms my conviction he is the wrong person for this job" and the administration should find someone else.
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, also said he would oppose Bolton, saying, ‘If I were the coach I would cut him from the team.’
There were accusations then that Bolton used his position as the top US diplomat for arms control and bully intelligence analysts and manipulate intelligence to support his hawkish conservative views.

Anyone have a guess of their operation strength? Is 100 a large portion of their fighting force or a drop in the bucket?
i think you are right, Israel is going to the Litani create a buffer zone and then put the ball in Hizbullah/Syria/Iran's court. Depending on their reaction will depend on whether Israel moves into the Bekka, which will create a whole new set of scenarios. I still don't see how ignoring the threat that comes from the Bekka serves Israeli interests in the long term. If you leave the Bekka alone you are going to leave one big headache for whatever beefed up international force that moves in later
