BOSTON The lesbian couple whose lawsuit led to legal same-sex marriage in Massachusetts have announced they have separated.
"Julie and Hillary Goodridge are amicably living apart," Mary Breslauer, a local political consultant, said Thursday night on their behalf. Breslauer declined to comment on how long they had been separated or whether the couple planned to divorce.

This is the reason why there should not be gay marriage. Grounds for the divorce, likely infidelity.

I do not care; have never cared; will never care about the trials of these

Ahh yes, and weren't the gay marriage advocates just telling us how much more stable gay marriage would be over real marriage?
Homosexuality is about one thing....sex. Not lifelong partnership, not parenthood....just sex. And if sex is all you have, you're always looking for a fresh thrill.
Say it as many times as it needs saying in order for it to sink into the thick skulls of the marriage perversion crowd: Marriage is about forming a father-mother unit to have and raise kids. Not love or romance. That's icing on the cake. Marriage is sanctioned by society because it creates the nuclear family which keeps society and civilizations stable and keeps them growing. When you mess with it, bad things happen. This is the God-given way to do it, this is the only right way to do it.

The Goodridges were married May 17, 2004, the first day same-sex marriages became legal under the court ruling, by a Unitarian Universalist minister. Their daughter, Annie, now 10, served as ring-bearer and flower girl. Now, Breslauer said, for Annie's sake, the Goodridges want privacy.
The child figured prominently in the Goodridges' case.
"Even though their number one priority was their daughter," Breslauer said, "marriage makes her also their legal obligation. Their daughter is more protected because they are married."
Mission accomplished, with the help of an innocent baby. It's interesting the way the story is presented. Two women have a child, with one of them suffering a C-section during childbirth. Two women apparently had this baby girl by themselves, for all you'll read of the male that must have provided the sperm.

There's mountains of reasoning why there shouldn't be gay marriage, but, come ON.

I think I'm gonna die from NOT surprised! Does anyone imagine that this will change any Legislator's minds? How about the stupid Justices of the Supreme Judicial court whose heartstrings were tugged by the pleading of this couple? I won't be holding my breath, that's for sure, but I can guaran-damn-tee you that the homosexual marriage proponents are worried about the public's reaction to this, especially if the citizens of the Commonwealth ever get to vote on it!
