Respectfully, I must tell you that my daily stresses (and yours, presumably) do not measure up to the stresses of hosting a national radio show that is rated #3 in the country. Unlike the persons in the #1 & #2 slots, Savage is trying to be honest, logical and forthright. I would imagine he is filled with conflicting emotions these days. He speaks from the heart, with considerable intelligence, and that is why I listen whenever I can. You won't find anything like him anywhere else on the airwaves.
What do you want me to say? I never said he doesn't have a large listening base. What's your point?

You expressed your opinion, and that's fine. Great! But then you say 'What do I care?'... obviously, a little bit.
I don't have time to argue nor do I wish to. You'll do as you wish and that's fine with me.
Why did you even bother to write me? I don't get it. And I really don't care what you think. If you doubt that, you apparently haven't read some of my other posts on FreeRepublic!
It's not what I want you to say it's what you did say and what was YOUR point. You can sling your accusations at Savage and by proxy at the Savage supporters here on his thread but the point is this'mental basket case' as you want to refer to him is a national success story by anybody's standards for the past 4-5 years with the #3 radio talk show in the nation and 4 best selling books.
If thats your typical mental case I'd sure like some of that. He has many traits that 'offend' people but so what? This has become such an 'offending proof' nation it's nauseating. That's why I like Savage. He doesn't cower to PC sensibilities like everyone else so I guess his enemies on both sides of the spectrum will be legion and you are obviously one of them.
But why you (and others) feel compelled to come on a thread where Savage FREEPERS gather to discuss Savage and his show and make a disparaging statement about him that obviously is only meant to be mean-spirited only you know and maybe that's your comfort zone. But I understand this is FreeRepublic and you have your opinion as I have mine, just not sure why you came on the thread today to leave your droppings for all to smell, thats all.
Was this in Chat? If it's a pep rally just for pro-Savage people why don't you just put it in chat and you won't have people putting in their 2 cents on a PUBLIC FORUM. Got it?? But since it's posted in News/Activism, you've gotta roll with the punches.

I've been here since 1998...six years longer than you have. My point is that when someone calls me a liberal, I don't find it necessary to pull out my conservative credentials. You, obviously, don't understand sarcasm when you read it. My point through all of this is take your SAVAGE cheerleaders and go somewhere else if you don't want to discuss any other viewpoint. There are other websites and just other areas on FreeRepublic. But this thread posted in NEWS/ACTIVISM and we are free to comment as we see fit.
Well actually I don't mind differences of opinion on the Savage thread, as all of the other talk show threads do not end up in chat either.
I just like to get to the 'truth' behind why people feel negatively towards Savage aka my handle(whatisthetruth) but most of his detractors are just hit and run specialists and don't want to engage.

Well, let's see.
He's a loudmouth who exhibits all the symptoms of manic depression, and at times those of alcoholism, and he flip-flops worse than John Kerry EVER did.
He likes to read from his own books, which I find obnoxious.
He makes stupid jokes about people's names and gets offended when reminded that his surname isn't in fact Savage.
That's for a start.
I agree with Hildy on this point. If there are places we can discuss Savages' show without interruption, then why not?
