The big snow storms happened in 67 and 79.

I was in Chicago then. 67 I was in 3rd grade? The snow was over my head. I made tunnels, it was fun.

I was in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 79...that was AWESOME! I LOVED IT!

we opened the 2nd story window- poored waterd down the slopes and made an awesome ice slide! Built an igloo....slept in it..until about 3 am-- then we were pounding on the door crying for warmth! LOL!

Unless you had to drive your frozen VW and instead had to wait in -20 weather with wind chill (which hadn't been invented yet) of -50.. while waiting for the CTA bus which was delayed because the streets weren't swept (in '79)..in ('69 it was OK...)...
