I was in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 79...that was AWESOME! I LOVED IT!
we opened the 2nd story window- poored waterd down the slopes and made an awesome ice slide! Built an igloo....slept in it..until about 3 am-- then we were pounding on the door crying for warmth! LOL!
You were in Indiana during the blizzard that come in 20-year intervals. That winter had 15-20 ft. snowdrifts in our backyard.
When I lived "up nort" in the 60's-70's we had snow. Lots of it. The plows pushed it up so high you couldn't see the road from the side walk. Had to shovel pathways to get to your car.
And yes Lee, I remember the -65 windchill in 79 walking to school. I raise your waiting for the CTA and walking into a headwind in my Michelin Man down coat and frozen face.
