Talking with friends here in the US with close ties to Spain, it seems every region has their tales of woe. A friend was accosted by a group of Moroccans in downtown Madrid a few months back. She said that had it not been for a well-dressed gentleman with a police whistle, at minimum she would have been robbed.
My experience in Seville in '03 and '05 is there are a lot of N African refugees there, but they are mostly the pest type. Street vendors, beggars, etc.
Obviously, what the country needs is a charasmatic conservative who can recapture the folks who formerly supported Aznar. Rajoy needs to become more exciting (for lack of a better term) if he is going to stand a chance. If conservatives do regain the majority, it will take years to haul out the ZP trash!
Cheers, and thanks for your response!

I have read that Franco's grandmother was a Jew.
You and I read the same books.
Did you hear Moratino's reply when he was told by a member of the spanish-jewish community that the archdhimmi Zapatero's remarks were antisemetic, and I quote:
"Let this be the last time you publicly denounce and condemn and express yourself saying a Spanish government is antisemitic," Moratinos said.
Who does this guy think he is? Hitler?
I agree. He has done major damage to Spain, reviving the "dos Españas" theory of one conservative Spain - BAAAAD - and one "progre" ("progressivist," aka raving leftist) Spain - GOOOOD, and grovelling at the feet of ETA terrorists and any passing Muslim he can find. Not to mention his special trips to worship at the shrine of Fidel and Hugo.
I remember being dubious of the Guardia Civil and the whole idea of living in Franco's Espana for a year in the early 70s. He certainly didn't have much effect on the daily lives of the folk on the street - of course by all accounts he was none too healthy at the time. As it turned out, another classmate and I took the bus the wrong direction in Valencia, ending up totally lost at the end of the line. Neither of us was quite fluent in Spanish, it being our second week in the country. One of the Guardia Civil soldiers approached us and between his extremely limited English which he seemed to be enjoying immensely and our first-year college Spanish we managed to find the way back to our piso. Suddenly I wasn't afraid of them anymore.
There was a whole group of Arab students, all studying medicine at the Universidad de Valencia - now THEY were scary. All liked to target American women on the streets - it WAS the 70s - looking for a little action. Whether they were making it up or not I'll never know, but most claimed ties to Black September. Also scary is that almost every one of them we met wanted to move to the U.S.
How times have changed since the Moros were thrown out of the country the first time. One of the most interesting sights I remember there was the huge mosque that had been taken over with a large Catholic cathedral constructed smack in the middle of it.
It is believed that Franco actually was jewish.
The surname Bahamonde (his mother's) is a Spanish Jewish name. Franco quietly let Jews back into Spain and allowed them to reopen a Synagogue in the late 50's.
Zappy was especially repugnant when he bombastically claimed that Al-Queerda had "nothing to do with Iraq," when he refused to stand or show any respect for the US flag in a parade in Spain, and his POS defense minister arrogantly stated that "Spain bows before no one (meaning the US), when Spain has just pulled it's forces out of Iraq, in response to the terrorist bombings in Madrid.
Zappy is a worthless, leftist POS who, like most liberals, are "tough" when there is no fear of retribution.
We both helped ... I wouldn't have noticed it, if you hadn't mentioned the poster's tagline :-).
Thanks for the link to this article, sounds like Zappy is creating lots of havoc.

Israel/Anti-Semitism/Spain PING !
I'd say it is time for the Jews in Spain to depart and head for Israel.
Very interesting website! Thanks!
Those videos were certainly - er, illuminating.
Personally, I don't think everybody in Spain is a socialist idiot. That title belongs to the government, unfortunately, and everybody else has got to grit their teeth and live with it, I guess!
"...his whole campaign did not bring much attention until the moment Al-Qaeda decided to blow up Madrid trains, killing almost 200 people and bringing to an end Spain's membership of the West..."
The truth must be known:
