You're right, that justifies killing unborn life.

We are talking about cells here, so I don't think the verb "kill" is even applicable.

"I am a Christian. I think I have a grasp of the theology. Please show me any Scripture which would forbid the use of embryonic tissue to benefit man. I can't seem to find one"

Sure.

Luke 1:38-45 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)

38"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

Mary Visits Elizabeth

39At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, 40where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth. 41When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"

Mary had just agreed to bear the Lord as a baby. She traveled to Elizabeth, who was 6 months pregnant with John the Baptist. Elizabeth, by divine inspiration, recognized Mary was carrying Jesus, who had just been conceived.

Jesus, although a blastoid or zygote at the time, was recognized by the Holy Spirit as Lord.

Nothing much changes.

The Bush Kool-Aid drinkers will have another sip, the two factions of our single-party system will use this to their respective advantage, and abortions will proceed apace.

Nothing much changes.

the message of the embryonic stem cell crowd, whether they acknowledge it or not, is that YOU ARE FORMER GARBAGE and so am I. Embryos are human - they do not have dog or fish or worm DNA, but human DNA. A complete set - something neither egg nor sperm has.

No they don't look like humans, But they ARE. Modern genetics has established that. Remind me which side hates science?

What are the philosophical implications of treating humans at their earliest stages of development like trash, or spare parts?

How can I take seriously someone's plea that we care for the poor, or stop war, or end injustice? For what? Beings that we once considered totally worthless?

Right, we'll be behind the rest of the world. So what - we didn't perform Mengele's experiments either. And they call Bush a Nazi.

Federal funding? I'm not sure this monkeying around should be legal at all.

You failed to answer the question I posited. Please show me any Scripture which would forbid the use of embryonic tissue to benefit man.

If you take one scientific process and say "Godforbid", you need to keep the same rules for every sector, or seem inconsistent. That is called hypocracy. Why are we going into space? Why is it OK to keep a preeemie alive, when many should have died. Is that playing God, or is it just assuaging a mother's love for her child, using MAN's technology? Or, is that "technology" actually a gift from God?

I do not believe you can find anything in Scripture to deny the science, any more than you can find a Scripture which will grant forgiveness of sins to a non-believer! God is not mocked, nor limited.

I'm not from MO, but you still need to SHOW ME!

Please don't ask me to explain liberals. I don't understand them myself.

I think if one were to seriously try to understand a liberal, one would have to blow 90% of ones brains out.

Yes bush vetoed it, but it won't be long before it's going to happen. It's just been delayed 3-4-5 years or whatever.

Silly wabbit.....you may want to find out what you are talking about before posting. One more time for clarity:

Embryonic stem cell research has been and will continue to be conducted by private enterprise and limited federal funding for existing lines.

THE ONLY THING THIS VETO DOES IS BAN FEDERAL FUNDING. TAXPAYERS WILL NOT BE FORCED TO FUND A PARTICULAR TYPE OF EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW???

An Iraq war opponent could ask the same of you.

I am sure if you look in your bag, you can find another DNC talking point to put forth. Unbelievable.....and pathetic.

If they are not kicked off the site, they can at least be hounded by those who are conservatives, and not given any rest. I have found in almost 8 years of participation on FR that one cannot reason with these people, but that their heinous viewpoints must be strongly challenged at every opportunity. I think their opinions are vile and from the pit. I wish them no harm, or violation of their precious rights to say what they want, but I have no problem ripping into them with everything I have.

I think you could do a full body cavity search on these people and you still wouldn't find a brain. I think they have plenty of forums to voice their opinion. They have CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, MSNBC, New York Slimes, other commie pimp newspapers, and the web to get their word out. I have Foxnews (sometimes) and Free Republic. Liberals are never fair and balance. Why do I have to be?

I am tired of hearing and being forced to listen to stupid people. Liberals don't have to cause all the people here Post Traumatic Liberal Stress Disorder (PTLSD). I am told to keep my blood pressure down. One sure fire way for me to do that is for me to stay away from stupid people.

It is true but I have a question. They say the brightest of the human race may use close to 10% of the brain. So just how much would a liberal actually use? I'm thinking, one may actually have to blow 99.9% of one's brains out in order to understand a liberal (and I hate going here because it really hurts just thinking about it, but you just might have to cut your manhood off too).

Two wrongs do not make a right. Disposing of humans as well as dissecting them for their parts is inhumanly twisted.

It all comes down to what you see as the "Begining of Life"... IF you hold the position that Life begins at conception.. as do I.... and if you believe that the intentional killing of an innocent human life is wrong.... for ANY REASON.. end of discussion...

IF HOWEVER.. you can rationalize that the killing of innocent human life is okay.. if it might benefit "society"... then YOU are a liberal... end of discussion

Of course if you hold the position that life begins OUTSIDE of the womb.. then the killing of a tiny stem cell (Human Life, IMHO) is not a problem for you.. neither is partial birth abortion..etc.etc.etc.etc.

OOOOOOOHHHHH, you use the L word. That makes you feel good, huh?

Answer my question with Scripture, not your "rationalize" argument. God told David to go out and slay an entire nation. He did not say, don't hurt them, though! He said "UTTERLY DESTROY". Are these embryos and zygotes dead, or in a state of suspended animation? (is it "ethical" to have your head frozen, so you can be restored later, when medical science makes the right discoveries of God's power?)

Where do you get the SCRIPTURE to explain your postition? I have a good mind, capable of understanding your arguments, if you have them founded on SCRIPTURE (you know, God's Holy Word!). But, you are making the same arguments that can be used to convince yourself that everybody gets into heaven. Show me in the Word of God!

Some people handle snakes, and look askance at anybody that thinks they are nuts!
