Those poor little zygotes... they'll never have the chance to grow up and divide into 16 cells.

Don't I hear your Mom calling you in for dinner?

Or do you even have a Mom? Are you the product of a sperm only?

Or were you just scraped from someone's cheek?

(No wonder you're such a mess, if you hold your own life in no more esteem than you do. I'd be mad too, if I thought I was of no more value than a piece of tissue.....)

IF you're advocating destroying it, the burden of proof is ENTIRELY on you to prove that it's not a life.

No, you have to prove it is a human life if you want government to protect it.

(I'm not sure why I'm even arguing with you after that stupid 'sperm' argument. I've seen more logic from a five year old).

It's an illustration of absurdity using the absurd. Someone quoted the Bible (big surprise) about God knowing you BEFORE you were in the womb. If that is the case, we must protect all sperm because it can potentially create a human for the Good Lord to deposit a waiting soul into it, praise Jesus.

*I* am valuable.. I am a living breathing human being. A little zygote is not. It is a clump of frozen protein and DNA, a dormant seed that CAN become a human being under the right conditions.

YOU want to use MY money to KILL human beings.

You're a lousy libertarian, Lunatic. And you're NO conservative, one way or the other.

I'll ignore your blasphemy. Special dispensation for your insanity.

No, he said if Bush had vetoed those bills, he would have showed he had a spine. He didn't veto those bills. So Bush didn't show a spine.

YOU want to use MY money to KILL human beings.

No, I want to use the PEOPLE'S money to use fertilized eggs to SAVE human beings.

Hey, you got your wish though. No federal funding for this research. Since it is too expensive and too long term for private companies to put no more that token investments into it, I hope you sleep well at night knowing that REAL human beings who are actually alive are going to DIE because of the Presiden't religious fairy tales.

Here's the 'agenda'!

If Federal funding had been approved...all of the abortion mills would have clients signing forms dedicating their
fetuses to federal research...a govt. approved program and
one step closer to unlimited abortion.

The veto, for the moment, stops unlimited abortions.

A disgusting comment by a disgusting little pissant. I'll sleep very well tonight knowing that President Bush understands that the right to life is the preeminent one. I'll sleep even better knowing that his decision to veto this bill is causing you such angst.

I wonder how a libertarian (OR a liberal..........not that there's much difference), decides on what is 'ethical.'

They decide based on their needs and wants. If they want the government to confiscate your money because they need it to fund their pet projects then that is both constitutional and ethical.

It doesn't apply to all libertarians, just to non viable libertarians.

How can you come up with ethical standards when there are no moral absolutes?

I believe in moral absolutes like taxpayers not funding either abortions OR counseling sessions or women wanting to get abortions. BTW I believe abortions should be illegal. Don't forget most "modern" conservatives believe it is OK to fund moral "absolutes" by gouging taxpayers. I don't think taxpayers should fork the bill for things that push my personal social agenda. Thats where Libertarians and "modern" ( read farm bill style GOP) conservatives differ.

Right motives, right action. Right to life is enshrined in the Constitution and DOI. Taking my money so scientists can get grants to kill human life is nowhere to be found in either document.

we have a bunch of brainwashed fools who let their religion rule their lives. Pathetic

We have a bunch of fools in bondage to their own appetites who let their carnal cravings rule their lives. Pathetic.

You have to wonder what makes people throw their morals out the window for an unproven area of medical research, especially when a successful, moral alternative is available. It's like some kind of religion.

Precisely. Many of those who support aggressive research into embryonic stem cells are motivated by the corrosive effect the acceptance of that research has upon the moral foundations and consensus of our society. They are "inconvenienced" by laws which are based upon a morality that stands opposed to motivations that stem solely from self-gratification. Embryonic stem cell research drives yet another nail in the coffin of the Judeo-Christian basis of our civilization...something many on this thread would obviously welcome.

Like I said.............you've bought the leftist lie, hook, line, and sinker.

That's what happens when you have no values yourself. You'll fall for anything.

In this case, it happens to be leftist propaganda.

More power to you, Lunatic. When the only thing you have is you, there isn't enough power in this world to help you out. I hope being a liberal at least makes you FEEL good.
