I've told you before, meandog, that when you bark like a leftist, reasonable people draw the conclusion that you ARE a leftist.

You started by calling a man of integrity, 'shrub' for taking a very conservative and difficult stand. Nothing you say after that will be taken seriously.

Maybe you should ask for your first (stupid, leftist) post to be removed? Then you can carry on the charade that you actually are a conservative more successfully.....

But we have a bunch of brainwashed fools who let their religion rule their lives. Pathetic.

You want to see brainwashed? Look in the mirror.

At the very least, they are not moral conservatives.

If they were, they would not have reacted this way..........and I think some of them now realize that they have exposed themselves.....

Hey, Lunatic, I'll take a crack at this one:

An embryo most certainly IS alive, before being frozen. When frozen it is not dead, it is in suspended animation. If by reasonable means it can still be restored to growth, activity, etc., then it is still alive.

Various organisms can be frozen, and then restored to "normal" life. Someday, quite possibly, this will apply even to full grown humans. (And what will we do if we find frozen life on Mars, someday? Destroy it? Or try to restore it?)

Now, the REAL argument is whether an embryo is a human being. Or, put another way, where do you draw the line? There's just no way to pin that down, after conception has occurred. The only truly defining event I can come up with is conception itself.

I must admit, I was unaware of "snowflake babies", and was beginning to lean toward Senator Frist's take on this. No longer. I can now only support use of embryo's that have such serious defects that it is certain they would not survive pregnancy. (This might sound silly, but I'd guess that studying the defective embryo's might itself give unexpected and valuable insights.)

Besides, I agree with the argument that if embryonic stem cell research is so promising, why aren't the big Health Care companies pouring big 'ol $$ into it? (Other than they won't if they think the gov't will fund it for them!) The amount of money already spent by the Feds on stem cell research would be chump change to the medical industry, if it was really THAT promising / worth the industry's while.

Now, don't get me wrong, I think there are lot's of areas where government funded research is valuable. But in this case, considering all the high profile types pushing for embryonic stem cell research, why don't they just use their energy to collect private donations? Convince Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. Or make some donations themselves?

A zygote is not even a fetus, much less a human being.

Prove to me you're human. Your attitude indicates you are something less.

That could be debated.

The majority opinion may well be in favor of this research, but I also believe that the majority of Americans still want a President who takes stands based on principle, and not politics.

Of course, we see many examples on this thread of the minority opinion which has no respect whatsoever for a man of principle.

Protect the sacred life of the sperm!

I hope you know by this post that you are raving like a lunatic.

Are you smart enough to quit while you're behind...........or are you going to keep making a complete fool of yourself on a public forum?

(I'm really embarrassed for you, boy. Please stop!)

The burden of proof is on YOU to prove that a human embryo is not a 'human life.'

Unless you can do that (which, of course, you cannot), then you shouldn't run around screaming that it's just fine to kill it and mocking those of us who want to save his or her life.

PROVE that the embryo is not a human, cheek blob. PROVE it.

I'm with you on that. I don't want my tax dollars paying for abortion or embryonic stem cell research period. R&D is tax deductible after all.

I wonder how a libertarian (OR a liberal..........not that there's much difference), decides on what is 'ethical.'

How can you come up with ethical standards when there are no moral absolutes?

What we see here are people who are making up the rules as they go along based on their own weak, self-made sense of right and wrong.

It's scary to see so much of it on a conservative website.

A human sperm cell has human DNA, it is alive, and if allowed to proceed in its natural function would produce a baby.

If that's all you have left it demonstrates just how pitiful your line of argument is.

I wasn't afraid at all. This is one of his core principles, and has been from Day 1.

No, the burden is not on me to prove a negative.

IF you're advocating destroying it, the burden of proof is ENTIRELY on you to prove that it's not a life.

(I'm not sure why I'm even arguing with you after that stupid 'sperm' argument. I've seen more logic from a five year old).

What about the scripture where God says " I knew you even BEFORE you were in your mothers womb."

I don't believe in fairy tales.
