Wow. That's a poll he might pay attention to. Could be the start of something big, but I wonder if it is, will it be before or after the election?

He'll ignore it, same as he ignores the costs of oil, the borders, and the opposition of amnesty for illegals. He's sold out.

Fair Tax?? Never happen. Washington is out of control with power and politics. The Tax Code is a tool for the Washington pols to solicit "legislation for sale" and other political favors from business and other groups. It is also a weapon which can be used, again for THIER purposes.

You will never see a Fair Tax, Flat Tax, or any tax that does away with the convenient flexibility of the Tax Code and the IRS as the goons who enforce !! Mark my words. And if this country is stupid enough to put a tax-mad, power-mad Marxist in the White House, well, you know the rest.

Fair Tax gets 86% of vote in Georgia! Results will be sent to President Bush.

Just one more "will-of-the-people" thing that the Bush Administration can ignore. Wouldn't want his presidency to be ruled by the people, doncha know!!

Actually those numbers are about in line with numbers from other areas when the people actually find out about the FairTax and how much it would help all of us.

No surprise at all.

A Taxreform ping for you all.

The FairTax was on the primary ballots in three Georgia counties yesterday.

Ahh, for once a report of real voters doing what the do best. Actually vote for something or someone.

If anyone would like to be added to this ping list let me know.

John Linder in the House(HR25) & Saxby Chambliss Senate(S25) offer a comprehensive bill to kill all federal income, SS/Medicare payroll, and gift/estate taxes outright replacing them with with a national retail sales tax administered by the states.

H.R.25,S.25
A bill to promote freedom, fairness, and economic opportunity by repealing the income tax and other taxes, abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and enacting a national retail sales tax to be administered primarily by the States.

Refer for additional information:

The fair tax was not on the ballot. What was on the ballot was if voters would support a retail tax in place of property tax. Boortz is full of it.

I'm no more impressed with a silly local stunt like this on national tax policy than I would be if there were nonbinding who-cares resolutions on hugging tress, lowering gas prices or saving baby seals.

Crackpot schemes like the FairTax never get any traction in Washington because there are too many sober people around. FDR was right -- radicals are people with both feet planted firmly in the air. Nobody with any sense in Washington is going to subject the American and Global economy to such simplistic nonsense. This fraud will be lucky to even get a hearing -- much less make it out of committee.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that question on my Cobb County/11th district ballot. And of course, I'm part of the 86% who voted YES on the Fair Tax question.

I'm even more pleasantly surprised at the 86% yes vote.

Perhaps more such local surveys should be taken to determine areas of widespread support for the fair tax and how those areas are distributed throughout the country. It might be interesting to know if support for the fair tax is regionally based and, if so, why that is the case.

If this popular support occurs nationwide, then we have a real opportunity to reform the tax system.

Results will be sent to President Bush

Who has nothing to do with either writing new laws or amending the Constitution.

Here's a link which may help these people to understand the President's role in our government.
