"THANK YOU, ISRAEL!" -- Exiled Lebanese Christians Speak Out From The Diaspora
Iconoclast ^ | By Brigitte Gabriel

"Thank you Israel," is the sentiment echoing from around the world from the millions of Christian Lebanese, driven out of our homeland. The Lebanese Foundation for Peace, an international group of Lebanese Christians, made the following statement in a press release to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert concerning the latest Israeli attacks against Hezbollah:

"We urge you to hit them hard and destroy their terror infrastructure. It is not [only] Israel who is fed up with this situation, but the majority of the silent Lebanese in Lebanon who are fed up with Hezbollah and are powerless to do anything out of fear of terror retaliation....."

Still working through my morning java, still trying to come across the tidbit from the scroll from the other day. Hubby remembers the gist, not the name of the spokesman, but agrees with me that it was CNN's scroll from the night of July 17th. I thought this might interest you, though.

Thanks and it does look like the exiled Lebanese would like to see their nation freed of the Hezzie terrorists. Who can blame them for that.

Imagine if a mafia took over a region of our country and made war on a neighboring country. Awful.

"Hard to believe that Lebanon once was known as the Paris of the Middle East, and that Christians were once the majority in Lebanon.'

Christians were once in the majority in North Africa, Egypt, parts of the Middle East and Anatolia before the Islamic plague erupted out of the desert like a swarm of locusts.

As recently as only a few hunded years ago there were still significant Christian enclaves in parts of North Africa.

Ethiopia was once entirely Christian, but the Muslims are elbowing their vicious way in there, The Copts still represent 10% of the Egyptian population. The Mulsims are pushing against Christian communities in Nigeria, the Sudan and other parts of Subsaharan Africa.

This is not merely a Christian and Jewish problem.

Hindus and Sikhs, Bahais and Buddhists, Zoroastrians and Animists and nearly every other conceivable religion has suffered, and continues to suffer, at the hands of an aggressive and expanding Islam.

Islam is Heaven's Gate on steroids.

Hard to believe that Lebanon once was known as the Paris of the Middle East, and that Christians were once the majority in Lebanon.

That's nothing. Soon, Paris will be known as the Beruit of Eurabia.

That's pretty easy to say when you live in the US. I'll cut them a little slack, since I haven't lived under fear of death because I said the wrong thing.

Imagine if a mafia took over a region of our country and made war on a neighboring country.

Even if it was for a cause we sympathize with! I'd love for us to have armed guards covering every square inch of our borders, but if those guards took it upon themselves to start firing on, say, Mexican villages known to be launching points for immigrants, I'd sure as hell want said guards to be thumped, and hard. The government of Lebanon doesn't seem to be taking the proactive route in dealing with the terrorists among them.

Why did they not disarm Hezballah according to a UN directive? So now we love the UN and automatically assume that they could have reasonably complied? I'm a bit confused......

More accurately you have a UN resolution accepted, not challenged, by Lebanon, consistant with their obligation to not allow the reinfiltration of Hizbollah or any terrorist group, nor allow attacks on Israel from their territory, under agreements when Israel withdrew in 2000, as well as their Peace Treaty with Israel signed in 1983. It has nothing to do with the UN, everything to do with Lebanons unwillingness to fulfill their obligations, as well as their support of Hizbollah.

Query - has Lebanon had the manpower and equipment necessary to eliminate Hezbollah? Has Israel made a legitimate affort to assist them in this task?

Israel is responsibile for Lebanon's failure to act? Spoken like a true Arab syncophat.

Israel turned the south over to the Lebanese government devoid of terrorists. The UN supplied troops. The Lebanese government let the terrorists back in. The Lebanese government allowed an armed terrorist group to participate in elections. The Lebanese government allowed it's roads, ports and airports to be used to transport arms to the terrorists. And are allowing attempted resupply as we speak.

And of course, it's Israel's fault.

Considering the size of Israel's air force, how is it that Katyusha launches aren't simply dealt with immediately?

Precisely what they're doing. And unfortunately civilians will die. Because the terrorists are known to operate amongst the civilian population. That's what terrorists do.

I always thought the Arab Christians still in the ME suffered from a sort of Stockholm syndrome.

Israel isn't retaliating, they're destroying Hizbollah in response to an act of war enabled by the Lebanese government.

When will the next pretextural strike be? Hard to know, presuming Lebanon takes the side of the terrorists and allows them to reestablish themselves, I hope it will be at whatever point Israel feels threatened. Hopefully long before Hizbollah reestablishes the capability to reign missiles down by the hundreds.

Then again, Lebanon might turn toward freedom and liberty, away from terror, many Lebanese would support that, and another strike will be unnecessary.
