Major Bevelacqua on O'Reilly Compared Israel to the Nazis for their "Lack of Comprimise"

Posted on 07/18/2006 5:13:29 PM PDT by Yaakov The Orator

On the O'Reilly Factor, Maj. Bob Bevelacqua compared the Israel to the Nazis for their so-called lack of comprimise. He said that Israel going out of Lebanon and Gaza was like "The Nazis going out of Moscow" and proceeded to say that Israel needed to be more willing to comprimise.

He also said he has a company in Beirut that employs 30 people

So his ox is getting gored - and he will now protect the enemy to protect is ass-ets.

Can we find out what kind of company? On second thought, given his training, we'd never find the truth. I suspect it's a front for something - maybe he's into arms dealing?

Certainly has done a switcheroo - or we just never got close to his own 'ox' before?

Fox should fire him until he apologizes to all the Jews on the face of the earth.

Israel is not even close to overdoing it.

They are under-aggressive. It's obvious; otherwise, this would be coming to resolution.

There is a reason Bevilaqua retired as a major ... he didn't have the reasoning ability to make lieutenant colonel.

He apparently failed to attend any of the Army's Staff and Command College. Had he done so, he might have learned that war is waged to break the will of the enemy ... and the enemy's supporters ... and until that is done, one must keep killing the enemy and making life miserable for him.

Certainly that will "inconvenience" the people of Lebanon in this case, but I have no sympathy for a "country" or the "citizens" of a "country" that allows their country to be overrun with terrorists.

Blockade Lebanon, nothing in, nothing out. Hammer Hizbollah until Nazrallah (anyone but me notice how close that is to Nazirallah? The Nazis of Allah?) is lying in a smoking heap in a back alley in Beirut.

I don't think we should be calling him names based on this considering his service as a Green Beret.

You don't understand, here on FR you must agree with everything Israel does or you will immediately be marginalized. If Israel carpet bombed fleeing women and children in Lebanon and George Bush asked them to show restraint he would be criticized. The other day eight innocent Canadians were killed in an Israeli bombing raid in Lebanon and the general response here on FR was that they weren't "real Canadians" and therefore they deserved to die. Absolutely no sympathy for the fact that innocent people were being slaughtered. Major Bob has served his country (that would be the USA) honorably, but now that he has spoken out against Israel he will be trashed. Israel first here.

His lack of grasp of the facts is simply embarassing for a supposed expert.

I think he understands perfectly - but if he has a business in Lebanon - which is threatened - his personal agenda will trump all else, even if it makes him protect the enemy...and given his training and contacts, who knows what he's really into?

Well, I would be alright with the carpet bombing part. I think it's thirty years overdue.
But I'm trying to give a veteran the benefit of the doubt. They deserve it one time at least.

There's a way to make a point and there's a way to make a point. When you throw in and compare the IDF to the Wehrmacht in Russia and Europe, you've just gone too far.

And they are showing maximum restraint.

A week's worth of missions. 250 max civilian dead. That's nothing.

It's also hard to show restraint when Hezbollah infrastructure and Lebanese infrastructure are the same thing. Hezbollah is part of the Lebanese govt we want to prop up. They're a major part of it. They own Lebanon south of Beirut.

It's like love and marriage. You can't have one without the other.

Then he syas that the IDF should nuke Damascus and Tehran instead. What happened to restraint?

Maybe later if he ends up pulling a Scott Ritter on us.

Sounded to me as if he just did...

ok, he didn't retire, apparently. But then why bill yourself as "Major"? That says to me that was his highest acheivement and he wants everyone to look at his military career. I'd like to know more about that "career" of his.

**Bevelacqua has a 17-year history of worldwide military experience, including combat in the Gulf War; riot control during the L.A. riots; a peacekeeping mission in Haiti, security assistance missions in West African countries; and numerous anti-drug missions on the U.S. border with Mexico.**
Not even all military time!
another quote: **What was written on paper back in the 1700's I don't think was locked in concrete; it was the foundation we were to build on, but they really didn't have any idea of how many rooms we were to put on the house. They didn't even know about bathrooms at the time, they only had outhouses. So as we change, both technology-wise and in our views of society and man change, this government has to change.**
So ....a living Constitution because the founders didn't know about indoor plumbing????? hmmmm...okayyyyyyyyyy :P

I bet the Major does not have business interests in Syria or Iran.

...because he loves the Lebanese, not the Syrians or Lebanese.....and he hates the military wing of Hezbollah much more then the political wing....before you start, even Newt Gingrinch said he has no problem if Hezzie wants to spount politics...just disarm and get rid of the military part.....but yes...I agree...probably impossible to do both to that ultra hate group......

Yep, that's exactly what it is. He also said the Israeli's shouldn't be invading Lebanon because they're not the ones that are the problem. However he didn't discuss the small matter of Lebanon being infested with Hezballah or the rockets being fired by them that are raining down on Israel.

I've lost what little respect I used to have for Bevelacqua.

Good evening.

If, as I have read here, Major Bob has business interests that are being impacted, I'm less surprised at what he said but even more disappointed with him.
