Coulter Jokes to Reporter About Mailing White Powder to 'NY Times'

NEW YORK According to a published report, Ann Coulter has (in jest, we assume) claimed to have sent that mysterious white powder to The New York Times.

Reporter Jacob Bernstein, in a "Memo Pad" item in today's Women's Wear Daily, wrote that he received a message from a New York Times source saying that Friday's powder mailing -- which included an Xed-out Times editorial and what ended up being corn starch -- "makes all of Ann Coulter's comments a little less funny. I wonder if she considers herself at all responsible when lunatics read her columns and she says that we should be killed."

Coulter, whose column is distributed by Universal Press Syndicate, has "joked" that maybe terrorist Timothy McVeigh should have blown up the Times building and that maybe Times Executive Editor Bill Keller should be executed.

"Memo Pad" sent an e-mail to Coulter's AOL account and according to Bernstein, received a reply claiming that she was the sender of the mysterious powder.

"'So glad to hear that The New York Times got my letter and that your friend at the Times thinks I'm funny,' she wrote back. 'Good luck in journalism and please send me your home address so we can stay in touch, too.

"P.S. If we get hit again, don't forget to ask the NYT if they consider themselves responsible since they have repeatedly exposed classified government programs designed to prevent another terrorist attack.'"

Bernstein concluded: "'Memo Pad' declined to send Coulter its home address."

Here is the "Memo pad" the story is based upon;

Memo Pad: Fan Mail
FAN MAIL: If you falsely yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater and everyone tramples each other to death, you get sent to jail. So what should be done with Ann Coulter, who has argued that The New York Times should have been blown up by Timothy McVeigh and that Times executive editor Bill Keller should be executed by firing squad?

This was the question one Times source asked on Friday after an employee at the paper of record received an envelope with an X scrawled through it and a suspicious powder inside. "This thing makes all of Ann Coulter's comments a little less funny," said the source. "I wonder if she considers herself at all responsible when lunatics read her columns and she says that we should be killed."

So Memo Pad went and asked her, sending an e-mail to her AOL account. And guess what? She not only responded, but claimed to be the sender of the mysterious powder.

"So glad to hear that The New York Times got my letter and that your friend at the Times thinks I'm funny," she wrote back. "Good luck in journalism and please send me your home address so we can stay in touch, too.

"P.S. If we get hit again, don't forget to ask the NYT if they consider themselves responsible since they have repeatedly exposed classified government programs designed to prevent another terrorist attack."

Thankfully, the powder at the Times turned out to be cornstarch. Memo Pad declined to send Coulter its home address.

Almost as bad as revealing how the US is defending itself against terrorist attacks, jackass.

Wonder how our troops in the battle zones feel about your little "jokes," NYT.

This summer the NYT has become the nation's Dog, Pony and Clown Show.

Sitting here in my pajamas, I have 10 times the cred of any NYT writer whatsoever.

If I was Masingale's, I'd mail the whole staff generous free samples.

So. Does Ann Coulter live in Pennsylvania where the letter was mailed from?

With regular summer weather affecting the entire country, Ann will undoubtedly cause a number of deaths of riled communists being attacked by their hearts in this heat.

When did it become a criminal act to send cornstarch in the mail? What is criminal about joking about it?

It's definitely feigned. They know what they've done and what they are guilty of.

That's why the traitors at the NYT panicked in the face of a little cornstarch.

BTW, no self-respecting terrorist wants to do any harmful thing to the NYT because that's where all their little buddies live.
