Today is the 37th anniversary of the despicable Kennedy's crime.
The Senator's office just hung up on me while I was wishing the Senator all the worst.

What happened there was that a criminal, guilty of man-slaughter, drunken driving, leaving the scene of an accident, letting a young woman drown, while protecting his own miserable criminal butt through his political connections.
The fat, drunk woman killer still walks the streets today. Amazing what money can do.

17 phone calls and 10 hours before the police were allerted. That alone should have sent him to the slammer.

A friend once told me that the Kennedys have made sure the bridge stays clsed, which is a big inconvenience for the folks who live there. Not sure if that's accurate, but he had his picture taken by the bridge, and it's fallen apart and impassible.

Is there a statute of limitations on the crime of murder?

I'm with Rush on the issue of a Mary Jo Kopechne Holiday.
She did more for the US than any other woman. She saved it from a Teddy Kennedy Presidency.

True story:
In 2000, I am with my 2 boys at the Capitol building waiting to go into the senate chambers to watch some proceedings. (Kids can't go in but we didnt know that until we were already up in the area) We are sitting in the little waiting area when Teddy himself comes stumbling down the hallway. My oldest, at the time 5 years old, loudly says, "Dad, there's the guy that needs to be in jail!"
Everybody in the area cracked up. I don't know that Drunk Ted heard it, but some of the people walking with him did.
Dad was proud.

Might be interesting for a woman to call up and say "Hello, this is Mary Jo. Is Teddy there?"

No mention of Chappaquiddick is complete without the "boiler room girls". These were a group of secretaries/aids that Kennedy's group would cheat on their wives with which included Kopechne.
Basically, Teddy was driving his way to commit adultery with Mary Joe on a remote beach. He was so drunk that we drove off a bridge and left her to die while he went to call his lawyer.
Possibly the greatest political cover up in modern times.
