Second one of these I have seen this morning, the other one was in LA.

It's time to resist by FORCE.

It did in New Orleans and people are still trying to get their guns back even with the backing of the courts.

since when do democrats care about what the bill of rights say? or the constitution for that matter?

They want they take.

They pass a law that says black is white and white is black.

It is about political power.

Individual rights such as gun ownership or freedom of association are a threat to the democrats so they attack every chance they get.

If this were europe, these are the types that get line up an shot at every revolution. So they have a politician "echo memory" to cause their fear of citizens. Not that we have ever needed it in the USA.

There's also the 'fact' that they're just smarter and know better than us 'common folk'. ;)

Yeh..well, I'm old enough to remember before television and I am completely convinced that this could fly, given the right circumstances: urban area, trumped up "War on Drugs" panic, recent gang activity, and a silver tongued 2nd amendment opponent.

Sophisticated, civilized Germany would never attack it's own assimilated Jews either.

I was told recently that if the police forcibly entered my home that I had no right to hold a gun as protection.

This is almost surely true in all jurisdictions. It would apply if you knew they were police. You are then obliged to surrender to arrest and sort it out in court later.

In general you aren't allowed to start blasting people unless you have a reasonable belief that they are about to harm you or others. It is considered a reasonable assumption that police are there to make an arrest, not to gun you down for no reason.

Unfortunately, no-knock raids sort of guarantee that the people in the home will start shooting if they have guns handy, because they don't know who the heck is coming through the door.

How about a search for drugs at Moreno's house? I thought this guy was going through rehab. Is he out?

>>>...not realizing that the WoD is preparing the ground for firearms prohibition.

Why is this?

I'll wager it was a police officer who told you this.

The raids would be aided by a database of firearm owners being maintained illegally by the Illinois State Police."

Firearms aren't registered in Illinois, people are.You must have a Firearm Owners I.D. in Illinois to buy a gun but not all holders of the FOID buy guns or even own guns.

being maintained illegally by the Illinois State Police.

Should be illegal but it's not in Illinois.

Moreno's statement comes within days of Blagojevich claiming that anyone in Chicago who owns a gun is a "gang banger" and is "...up to no good."

I read the original article and that's a misquote too.

Old Rod is a gun grabber for certain but this article is B.S.

His rino opponent Topinka is no better than he is.

That's the way I always understood it...

And, it better not be a No-Knock Warrant.

I guess they think they're doing the virtuous thing and not thinking it through, that what they support against drug users is exactly what the government needs to take their guns.

The reality of the matter, however, is that no matter how wrong they may be or right and innocent you may be, if you shoot at a cop knocking into your house, they will leave you dead and claim you were the aggressor.

Thanks for the response. But still don't understand.

BTW, Ibtz means in before the zot.

Chicago (part of Cook County) forbids gun ownership, but here in northwest suburban Cook County you need a FOID card to purchase a gun. Neither Chicago nor the State of Illinois have the legal power to confiscate legally owned guns in townships that do not forbid gun ownership.

Either the writer of this article is confused or the Blagojevic crony is confused or both.

BTW, Topinka is a true RINO only marginally better than Blagojevic. My wife refuses to vote for her, but I will take a deep breath, close my eyes, and .... (What a nightmare!).

"How can this be true?"

Easy!
We now have so very many unconstitutional "laws" on the books that the sheeple are conditioned to accept then all, and more to come.
The so called "government" and "L.E." are counting the days until they are certain that they can get away with an outrage like this.

Since we the people failed to refuse acceptance of the current outrages (Brady Bill, NFA-34, GCA's-68 & 94, both AW Ban's, Lautenberg amendment, etc.) we have encouraged the lunatic gun grabbers to continue their assaults on our RKBA at any level they can.

They are currently on fairly short leashes in most of the country, but as this illustrates, they are still straining to break free and rip our rights from us.

The only good long term defense against seditionist like these is to start demanding REPEAL of the existing outrages, see the short list above.

What's sad is to see so many pro-2nd Amendment people supporting the WoD, not realizing that the WoD is preparing the ground for firearms prohibition.

I don't think there are as many as you might think. At least here on FR, the vast majority of pro-2nd Amendment folks think the federal war on drugs is a joke and the majority of pro-WOD posters are gun-grabbers.
