D.C. Chapter to Freep John Murtha This Thursday, July 20, 2006

The D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us this Thursday, July 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as we freep Rep. John Murtha ('Rat-Pa.) and support the troops he has foresaken on the battlefield.

We'll gather on the sidewalk in front of the Hyatt Regency at 400 New Jersey Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. The Hyatt is located a few blocks from Union Station.

Please bring flags and signs. Also bring water, it'll be hot.

I'm not sure if we'll be there for all three hours, but we'll start forming up at 11 a.m. and take it from there. Murtha is being 'honored' at a noon luncheon at the Hyatt. Details here.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

I wish I could make it back for this!
So far I haven't been able to finagle a work related trip back to the D.C. area.

Wasn't I supposed to become mean, evil, insensitive to the plight of my fellow man as well as independently wealthy when I became actively conservative?
I should be able to call Jeeves and say "Gas up the jet, we're going to FReep Murtha!"

Wish I had more advance notice. I would have loved to go. I think there are some special events marking the 30th anniv. of the National Air and Space Museum that day. I should have planned on a DC trip. Oh well, there will surely be other opportunities to picket some lefties. :)
