The once dominant Lebanese Christians responsible for giving the world "the Paris of the Middle East" as Lebanon used to be known, have been killed, massacred, driven out of their homes and scattered around the world as radical Islam declared its holy war in the 70s and took hold of the country. They voice an opinion that they and Israel have learned from personal experience, which is now belatedly being discovered by the rest of the world. While the world protected the PLO withdrawing from Lebanon in 1983 with Israel hot on their heels, another more volatile and religiously idealistic organization was being born: Hezbollah, "the Party of God", founded by Ayatollah Khomeini and financed by Iran.

The Lebanese went to the streets to insist Syria get out of their lives. Well, Syria might be gone but, they left their little friends.
+There is so much that we must thank Jimmah Car_teer for. And yet no Peace Prize!!!
Great graphic Backhoe.
I'm so worried about the USA's role, though, after GWB leaves office. What if we get a Kerry in there? GOD FORBID! The Dems are crazy enough to do it.
Thanks, Kakaze.
"it is Israel and the U.S. against the rest of the world."
That's how I see it, though Canada, Poland, Australia, Japan, a couple more eastern European countries and England seem to be allies with us, more or less.
Maybe India now, and New Zealand, too.
Pakistan is a mixed blessing and Saudi Arabia is suspect.
So, we can expect a "response" from Iran on August 22nd. The religion of peace will murder as many Christians and Jews as they can. Why isn't the media reporting this to the world? The traitors within are as dengerous as the Iranian mullahs.
The Dems also said they might raise taxes - which made me happy. But still, too many Americans are ignorant - I just heard someone say that we shouldn't put our own safety on the line for Israel. This is the ignorance and shallowness with which we are dealing.

I'm donning my flame suit, but I'd love to see Newt as our next president. Does he have a chance? Probably not. But Newt is the one man I've heard who really knows what's going on and how high the stakes really are.
Has anyone seen any rubble from Israel - even on Fox News? (caveat - I get all my news from the Web, no TV) Seems all I see are images of destruction in Lebanon. Does Isreal not let such images out or does our press simply not publish them? Israel = warplanes being launched. Lebanon = destroyed buildings.
Shalom.
That has potential for great trouble-- many of the problems there, with North Korea, etc., are directly attributable to Clinton's "kicking the can down the road" for eight years while he clung to office.
I hope the President will use his time left to stabilize the area as much as possible. IMO, that means turning Israel loose, and backing her.
Unfortunately, Americans don't like to leave any one party in the White House too long, so I expect to see those damn "D's" back there, if not this time, then the next.
I would say that the chance of getting Gore in the White House is a greater possibility than Kerry running again and winning.
I'm afraid that if Gore decides to go for it again, he could very well win. He has millions of his own bucks to spend, from his Google stock, plus the "sympathy vote" for getting the most votes in 2000 and being denied the White House.
This is NOT something I enjoy thinking about.
Lebanese Christian Brigitte Gabriel ping!

Joe Kennedy and others of communist ilk said the same thing about declaring war on Germany during WWII.
