Bush caught out by open microphone

Bush caught out by open microphone

US President George W. Bush has been caught out making candid comments on the Middle East crisis by an open microphone at a summit in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg.

Mr Bush was caught saying that a key to defusing the Middle East crisis was for "Hezbollah to stop doing this s**t". "What they need to do is get Syria to get Hizbollah to stop doing this s**t, and it's over," Bush told British Prime Minister Tony Blair at a leaders' lunch at the Group of Eight industrial countries gathering here.

The president was on camera but apparently unaware that his words were being captured by a microphone.

It was unclear who 'they' were.

He's no Bill Clinton, that's for sure.

P.S. You have a great tagline.

Apparently they didn't hear the part where Bush stated "Israel should nuke the s**t out of Syria and Iran both and end this s**t."

Why do you instantly assume that he is dumb? Have you ever heard the expression "dumb like a fox"?

"What they need to do is get Syria to get Hizbollah to stop doing this s**t, and it's over."

Makes damn good sense to me.

I hope Israel goes for the heads in Syria. Pussyfooting around has led us to where we are now, and it will only get worst if we do not shut them down now.

I'd like to see more "open" mics around our President. We'd cut through more crap.

Actually, I would not be half surprised if this was a put-up job. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Sounds like something Iran would understand since they seem to only speak in barnyard talk and hyperbole.

Open mike accident...yeah.

Sometimes one profanity expresses more than a hundred 'approved' words would.

My kids reminded me once that I'll say a swear word every so often. I said I didn't think so. They then told me it was the "s" word. I said Oh - perhaps.

They said "Yeah - especially when you get mad at the dog - then you call him a "stupid" dog. :)

I saw the clip on FOX this morning and thought it was a great moment. Bush supposedly also said he was ready to get out of the G8 summit as soon as he could, because "these people talk too long."

Perfect!

It's that easy is it? I tend to side with Newt on the "World War 3" idea Mr. President.

I don't think he's dumb. I think he did something dumb. Inept. Fortunately, what he said wasn't exactly news to anybody, but it does make him seem coarse. He needs to be more careful and I'm sure Condi is giving him and earful.
