MSNBC reporting that building in Haifa hit by rocket (and collapsed) may be an apartment building. No reports (yet) of injuries or deaths.

MSNBC: Iran says a ceasefire and exchange of prisoners would be acceptable.

I think this is stunning news that they have completely and utterly injected themselves as controlling Hezbollah.

U.S. Embassy Plan to Transport American Citizens from Lebanon

July 17, 2006

The U.S. Embassy is finalizing details to assist American citizens who wish to leave Lebanon. Americans who wish to leave should ready themselves immediately and await further instructions. Americans who wish to depart Lebanon should prepare important travel documents such as a valid U.S. passport, birth certificates, and other civil documents such as marriage. Each traveler will each be allowed one suitcase only—not to exceed 15 kilos (30 pounds). Pets will not be allowed to travel. Further instructions will be disseminated via the media, the Embassy warden system and the U.S. Embassy website: http://lebanon.usembassy.gov Two U.S. helicopters arrived at the U.S. Embassy in Awkar at 16:00 today, July 17, bringing additional staff to assist with the American citizen departure, including U.S. Department of State consular officers. The helicopters took out of Lebanon a number of Americans with urgent medical needs, children to be re-united with their parents, and elderly family members. The U.S. Department of State continues to coordinate with the U.S. Department of Defense to ensure that the departure of American citizens is safe and carried out in an orderly fashion. The U.S. Embassy is particularly concerned about American citizens in the south and is working through the Warden System to reach them. The Department of State continues to work around the clock to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens. The U.S. Embassy encourages Americans who have not yet registered to phone the Department of State at 202-501-4444 from overseas, or at 1-888-407-4747 if calling from the U.S. and Canada. The U.S. Embassy reaffirms the firm, enduring and non-negotiable commitment of the United States to Lebanon and the Lebanese people.

FINALLY, some news from the State Department!!!

UPDATE!

I just got off the phone with my daughter. She is in Jerusalem, staying in a vacant (but furnished) apartment that was loaned to Chabad by a family now in Europe. It's a very large apartment and she is sharing it with another family, her neighbors from Safed whose house was hit by rockets.

She said that if she is not able to return to Safed in the next few weeks, or if the attacks get close to Jerusalem, she will bring the kids to the U.S.

PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR PRAYERS! (see tagline for details)

FRmail me to be added or removed from this Judaic/pro-Israel/Russian Jewry ping list.

Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.

Holocaust?!
Topics: Uncategorized
A colleague at work today came to my office with the paper. Gruesome pictures of those killed or hurt in Lebanon were printed across several pages.

Colleague: Do you know why Israelis love killing Palestinians and Arabs?

Me: Why?

Colleague: Because of what Hitler did to them. The Jews want to do it to others. It's psychological, they want others to suffer what they suffered from so they carry out their own holocaust.

Me: Ummm, so you're basically saying they are doing to the Palestinians what Hitler did to their grandfathers?

Colleague: Yes exactly.

Me: Ummmm, well I have a question. If they, for all those years, were doing to the Palestinians what Hitler did to them, how come the average Palestinian birth rate is 3 or 4 times that of the Israelis?? I mean weren't they supposed to be carrying out a holocaust for all those years? The Palestinian and Arab population in general is exploding. How can that happen while a holocaust is going on?!

Watching Weasley Clark on FOX (the Irish guy's show, what's-his-name?)...

The amazing Clintonian General who bombed civilian trains, rusting hulks, and painted-to-look-like-bridges to destroy Yugoslavia....you know the guy:

Preaching that the Israelis should not be attempting anything they's successfully done so far without first filling the air with UAV's, flooding Lebanon with Special Forces to identify where the bad guys are, and generally doing it precisely the way they are and he did not.

Fortunately, I have other things to do, outside, where I can scream all I want.
