I'm off to pass out more 'sweets'
Figures.
Let me know what you folks think of it!
Definitely a curious video, isn't it?
CNNi showing the video now, too. They are saying conflicting reports on what it was also.
(I would like to see that video slowed down...hard to tell if something impacted it or what...)
Thanks! GO ASTROS! :-)
Yeah, as with all initial reports...take them with a grain of salt.
There's as much bs propaganda coming down the wires as factual reporting. Market open should give a better view how the money feels if this is escalating into a ground invasion.
LOL...Fox just repeated it...
And did you hear Jed Babbin and that other guy's response to Buchanan's idiotic rant? I was yelling at the TV cheering them on. My neighbors must think I've lost it, though...
Now F&F saying a building in Haifa had collapsed.
Villepin is a joke. Nicolas Sarkozy, the Interior Minister and the probable center-right candidate for president next year, has said on French TV that Hezbollah is the aggressor in this conflict. He said that Israel must defend herself and has the right to defend herself, although he cautioned them to keep their cool and react proportionately.
He also said: the irresponsible behavior of Hezbollah is leading to the breakup of the Lebanese state; Lebanon must be rid of outside influences; Iran has further isolated itself from the international community; there are more than just suspicions about the links between Hezbollah and Iran; and he fears that it's not just Iran that is involved. (The quotes may seem a bit disjointed since the article didn't also provide the questions posed for context.)
I don't have it in English but the French article is here: http://permanent.nouvelobs.com/politique/20060716.FAP9621.html
It may not be much, but he says a lot more than Chirac or Villepin have.
And (according to what Greg Burke in Beirut is hearing and reporting on FNC) Lebanese military also saying that it was a plane that went down and two pilots killed.
Israeli PM to make a statement at 15:00 GMT (11:00 EDT).
Wonder what he has got to say. Either announce beginning of ground offensive or a cease fire?? He hasn't really spoken publicly since all this started. We'll see what he's got to say.
Anderson Cooper is there on scene and seeing flames in that building and soldiers looking for people.
Good Morning,
My Liberal co-worker just remarked he likes Buchanan. What did he say this morning?
Re International force for Lebanon call
Amazing that the UN has had an international force in Southern Lebanon since 1978 (UNIFIL). Last year's budget was just under $100 million.
Under UNIFIL, Hezbollah built their war machine.
That's got to be a fairly decent sized warhead to create that kind of damage
Anderson saying this is the first one that hit a residential area (in Haifa). The others hit commercial or other areas.
Sounded quite hectic in the background behind him.
