9 killed in rocket attack on HaifaGAMLA: News and Views from Israel
Attack on north resumes: Rockets fired by Hizbullah terrorists from Lebanon land in Haifa; police say nine killed, dozens injured in strike. Israel TV reports of casualties in city. Nahariya, Kiryat Bialik also targeted; additional Katyushas apparently strike Akko area
A siren was heard across Haifa Sunday after a Katyusha rocket fell in the area. Security forces said at least ten Katyusha rockets fell on the Haifa area.
Police said that nine people have been killed and dozens have been injured.
Police say nine people have been killed at the train depot. The rescue of the injured is being delayed after many people abandoned their vehicles due to rockets, leaving them on the road to the Rambam hospital.
The Katyusha barrage also struck Naharia, Kiryat Bialik (check post), Akko, and Rosh Hanikra.
The simultaneous attack took place shortly after 9 a.m. in the morning. Phone networks in the area have been affected.
Ofir from Haifa said: "I see the train depot downtown, on the train tracks. There were four hits and smoke is rising. Hizbullah apparently aimed for the oil refineries."
Karen from Haifa said: "We heard a rocket explode in the harbor area and then in the port."
Over 700 rockets have been fired since the beginning of fighting on the northern border, and the IDF does not rule out that the rockets may reach further south than Haifa. "Areas south of Haifa will receive an advanced warning in the form of a siren," Home Front Commander Yitzhak Gershon said.

I think Israel should watch that broadcast and come to the proper conclusion after calculating their coordinates.
Can I have a url for that if you have one?
If only Israel had a few dozen of these...
Trying to find additional confirmation. (I'm guessing we won't get much from the MSM who simply adore al Jazeera.) So far have found one link:
"Israel Radio correspondent Mickey Gurdis complained in a live report of what
he termed a major security failure that the Arab news station, Aljazeera, is
broadcasting a live television feed of the bombing of Haifa from a camera
located at the top of the Carmel mountain in Haifa.
This enables the Hezbollah rocket teams to adjust their aim."

Thats not a bad idea.
Just quoted ninofan (post #36).
Actually even JPost has a picture on its website of Haifa from one of the surrounding heights (photo from Channel 10) that it really shoudn't show.
Do you have a url for that (ie an article or source)?
Thanks for the links.
Thanks for the info!
I just checked the web sites and they were down and/or not responding.
Where are the streaming broadcasts coming from?
I did not check that.
Iran and Hizbuallah are full of surprises. Muslim rockets killing and maiming Israelis so far from the border is unprecedented.
For Haifa ..... look near the top of this map

Hezbollah Websites Down, TV Still Up
Al Manar, Hezbollah's TV station, was one of Israel's first targets. While the station was hit, it seemed to be on the air as of this morning. Either the attack was not as succesful as hoped, or al Manar was transmitting from a backup location.
You can watch Hezbullah's terrorist TV station, al Manar here. Right now, they are showing a live shot of Beirut and playing a song which, curiously, has a chorus of "Allahu Akhbar" sung over and over.
But I'm sure religion has nothing to do with Hizbullah's--which means The Party of God-- beef with Israel.
Hizbuallah main website, Moqawama, is down. Al Manar's main page is also down.
Hopefully, Israel has fully integrated cyber-attacks into its battle plan. From the looks of it, they have.

Olmert just issued a statement. I'm looking for a link.
Well, since the news media is still mentioning Al-Manar TV; I guess my update is the web sites are down.
This will not go over well at all with Israel. First off, the terrorist creeps were trying for a major target (and no doubt they'll try again). Second, their miss killed a bunch of people anyway.
"9/11 was the wakeup call we should have heeded (as if the 1982 Marine barracks attack wasn't enough), yet we still pressed Israel with the "land for peace" bullshit. There can be no peace until the mullahs in Iran lie dead and Syria is castrated. When are we going to join with the IDF and wipe the mideast clean of these scum?"
Well put.
Hopefully the statement was something like "Hizbullah, Syria, Iran - you are going to regret doing that"
I might assume that, but I don't know if another news agency might be helping them out and streaming their stuff.
