not enough, IDF has been hitting those targets for 3+ days now, Hafia is not just some border town, its the 3rd largest city in Israel and a very important port city. Rocket and missile barrages into Hafia should not be tolerated and a stronger response is necessary. Syria and Iran need to get the message and more of the same bombing in Beruit and S. Lebanon will not cut it

I was dumb too when I was the same age as those Kuwaitis.

I like to think I was never that dumb. And I did some idiotic things in my youth.

I've been in and out of Kuwait a few times over the past two and a half years. Believe me, it's not just the young ones who have that attitude.

Thanks.

The good thing is that the overload will make it difficult for any forward spotter to relay info to Hezbollah - via the phones at least.

i think everyone is beginning to see my despise of Olmert, if Sharon was still around or if Bibi had been elected I GUARANTEE this would not have happened b/c Hizbullah, Syria and Iran know the smack down of all smack downs would have rained down upon them (look at this quote from that spineless *&%^^$& "We are tired of fighting, we are tired of being courageous, we are tired of winning, we are tired of defeating our enemies, we want that we will be able to live in an entirely different environment of relations with our enemies.")

11:40 Jul 16, '06 / 20 Tammuz 5766
(IsraelNN.com) According to military officials, in addition to the 122mm Katyusha rockets, Hizbullah on Sunday fired 240mm el-Fajar rockets capable of traveling 40-50 kilometers (24-30 miles), carrying about six times the payload of a Katyusha rocket.

If Hesbollah has longer range rockets, perhaps Israel needs to move the border...

This will be over soon. Saudi Arabia came out and basically said Hezbollah are a bunch of irresponsible assholes. Egypt had words to say also. There is no support for a war. Just get those 3 guys back home and everybody can go to the beach to hunt Bambi. The Med is very nice. I hung around the Costa del Sol.

Wars aren't fought in a day, and don't lend themselves to our 24-hour news cycle. Logistics take time to work out. Reservists need to be mobilized. Weapons need to be moved into place. Not to mention that there are millions of civilians, including Americans and other foreign nationals in Lebanon, which hampers Israel's ability to stage an all-out war.

Striking Syria first isn't necessarily in Israel's best interests right now for a number of reasons. For starters, Syria would lob even more missiles at Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. International public opinion will further turn against Israel. And whatever replaces the idiot Bashar Assad's government may be even worse than him.

No one is thinking ruthlessly enough. It's is not territory, it is not technology, it is not morality. The answer is killing; killing as many Hez, killing ALL hez. KILL THEM...Maps, tit for tat, feints and posturing will avail NOTHING. KILL the people who are the problem . KILL!

I am not expecting an immediate reponse by any means, and i apologize b/c i know i've left that impression. What i am concerned about is the political will of the current Israeli govt. to conduct this war. And i agree that hitting Syria first isn't the best idea for all the reasons you mention. But Syria will get the message if a serious invasion of south lebanon (they need to secure the north side of the Litani river and trap those Hizbullah bastards in) and the bekka valley takes place. But an operation like that will require protection of the western flank (ie Syria) and it would be prudent militarily to take out Syrian SAM sites which could threaten air superiority over the bekka and should maybe hit an airbase or two to prevent any Syrian AF intervention (on second thought let them get airborne for another bekka valley turkey shoot). Olmert has got a lot to prove and if he doesn't handle this crisis well he will find himself out of a job

you are joking right, are you watching the same conflict everyone else is. Look at the recent Haaretz ticker

12:02 Syria promises `firm and unlimited response` to any possible Israeli attack (AP)
11:58 Immigrant Absorption Ministry published hotline for inquiries: 1255081010 (Itim)
11:56 Iran denies having any soldiers in Lebanon, shipping missiles to Hezbollah (AP)
11:53 IDF tells Israelis from Tel Aviv northward to raise awareness (Haaretz)
11:40 Iran warns Israel of `unimaginable losses` if Syria is hit (AFP)
11:29 Russian FM: Fighting between Israel and Hezbollah could ignite wider conflict (AP

Iran warning of Unimaginable losses =wmds
TelAviv missile strike = IDF invasion of southern lebanon and this is the expected Hizbullah response
Syria waring of unlimited response = they know southern lebanon invasion coming and that if you hit us to protect your flank we will hit back

I think Syria already has got the message. Yesterday afternoon/evening when Israel bombed the crossing between Lebanon and Syria, Syria was very quick to tell the world that the attack had NOT taken place on Syrian territory.

Reading between the lines, it seems to say we don't want anything to do with this. Probably at the moment this is a Hezbollah/Hamas/Iran affair. When/if Israel directs heavy attacks on the Bekaa valley things may change, but at the moment it looks like the Syrians want to stay well outside this conflict.
