"They're making sure to hit holy sites as well, it seems... Safed,...."

For those unfamiliar with Judaism, Safed (alternate spelling Sfat), is a major rabbinical town, in which has pretty much continuously been inhabited by Jews all the way back to Roman times and before. Many orthodox consider it to be a "holy site."

Tripoli is also referred to as Trablous. It is in Lebanon.

The capital of Libya is another Tripoli(Tarabulus).

According to this maps, the missiles would have to be coming from Jordan, or the Golan Heights or within Israel itself, if they have the range of Katyushas shown in the figure.

None of the above. Hizbullah has longer range rockets/missiles than earlier thought

When I heard about Tiberius, my heart stopped for a minute. I thought of you but it was probably 2 AM in your neck of the woods, I figured you were not on yet. Thanks for the update. I am very glad he is OK.

Did you see that CNN reporter interviewing the Palestinian shopkeeper in Gaza? The Palestinian was saying that they just want peace, that they democratically elected Hamas but Israel, the US, and other countries aren't accepting it. The reporter then asked him what he would like President Bush to do (geesh) and the man said that he should help protect them. Puh-leeze. They elected TERRORISTS, who want to wipe out Israel and kill infidels, yet they want the infidel of all infidels (President Bush) to HELP them. Barf.

It seems that logic is not a strong trait in the population of Gaza.

If I hear "disproportionate response" one more time, I'm going to "plotz". hezbollah is a terrorist organization. They have been attacking Israel for years...is that the proportion that they're talking about? What is proportionate?

Hezbollah crossed an international border, killed soldiers and abducted 2. Israel has every right to react as strongly as they wish.

Lastly, Israel drops leaflets warning people to move away from certain areas before they attack. Hezbollah fires missiles into Israel with the specificf INTENT at harming civilians. What is more proportional?

This is just infuriating...

BTW, the State Dept has had a travel advisory up for Lebanon for a long time, I understand, which is probably why Americans will have to pay for their rescue from there...

the worst Israeli attack on its neighbor in 24 years.

Correctly stated, it is the most forceful response by Israel to attacks on it and its citizens in 24 years.
