It is really strange. On Thursday, Fox did a much better job - when it was starting - and cnn showed nothing.

Rte66, I think both Alouette and sofaman have people in Israel, if that's what you're looking for. (They're civilians, not military, I believe.)

Anybody see this?

Hizbullah leaders and operatives were leaving Beirut on Saturday following a massive IAF strike on an 11-story building that served as the organization's command center, initial intelligence revealed.

Channel 2 reported that the move appeared to be made under heavy security.

Good morning, ohioWfan. This President WON'T 'cut and run' from the G8. Blair is just now getting there.

I will be glad when he is back here, tho.

Thank you, thank you. I was just sitting here refreshing and refreshing, hoping someone would answer. A company here is coordinating an evac of American civilians in harm's way, with people they have on the ground there already, safely and through diplomatic channels.

If I were in Beirut or somewhere in Israel, and frantic to get out, without power, I'd want someone to have this info and I felt the 45 minutes I've waited might make a difference.

I did FReepmail Allegra to get her advice, if she knew who these people are. I just wanted to find out from someone if this company is reputable and it isn't a scam of some kind, like they will ask for money. I just don't know. I'll FRm those two and just tell them. This info was also for those here in the US who had someone over there, to work it from this end.

Thank you - sorry if typos

Maybe Fox had to get their top tier people over there. Could explain the dismal reporting by Fox earlier in the week.

I had just written to Fox last night complaining about the poor coverage of the war, when it took a decided turn for the better. I think you're right about them having to get their people into position.

"This is a huge escalation of this war."

Israel has apparently issued a warning to Syria, giving them 72 hours to stop Hezbollah and release the soldiers. I have a feeling that was a distraction and that when the 72 hour deadline expires, something will be lobbed at Tehran.

It was taken completely out of context of the question, which concerned who was in charge at the White House, since Reagan and "the Troika" were at the hospital and Bush was out of position (in Air Force 2 over the southeast U.S.).

That info was included in the site where I got the bio info. It wasn't something I added or believe.

I got it. I'll answer shortly. I've got to get something urgent done (work-related) first.

Just FYI - we're OK here. In fact, it's been pretty quiet.

I have a feeling the Iranian silkworm missile at the Israeli ship was the first surprise that the Israelis had gotten. Their intelligence capabilities are very good (far better than ours, apparently, thanks CIA), and I think they probably know what's what. I am praying that their military strategy will be equally brilliant.

I am praying continuously for the Israelis in this conflict, both for their sake and for the world's really.
