Karl Rove on "Fairness"
Sierra Times ^ | July 14, 2006 | Joanie Fischer

Karl Rove on 'Fairness'

"We need to work together, which will require making tough choices to get a bill that is not perfect, but is meaningful, and fair and comprehensive" ... Karl Rove, speaking to La Raza, 11 July, 2006

The definition of ‘fair,’ (always a dangerous concept when viewed from a political-power, bureaucracy-entrenched perspective), appears to have taken a sharp left, anti-sovereignty, extra-Constitutional turn as seen through the eyes of the Bush administration and the majority of American ‘leadership’ in Washington:

Being ‘fair,’ according to Karl Rove and his powerful and growing ilk, appears to include:

* Having the fruits of the American citizens’/taxpayers’ labor siphoned off, by an increasingly unaccountable federal government, to pay for social services, education, legal fees and court costs for criminals who are living and working in this country illegally.

* Allowing citizens of another country, whose leadership is among the most corrupt in the world, to enter this country at will in order to feed like parasites off of a convoluted, cancer-ridden system of government that no longer bears any resemblance to the original-intent limited-government blueprint that once insured individual liberty, justice, and national sovereignty more practically and nobly than any other outline ever conceived by the mind of man.

* Allowing representatives of the Mexican government to have a say (sometimes even more of a say than the American citizenry) as to how, and how resolutely, we patrol the very borders across which their own countrymen are invading our republic.

* An administration, and a congress, enacting new laws and acts in response to the 9/11 holocaust which infringe on the liberties of all Americans in the name of ‘homeland security’, while at the same time turning a blind eye towards hundreds of miles of border that are guarded by nothing more than makeshift fencing over which a small child could climb … leaving a deadly vulnerability through which all manner of unimaginable evils may steal.

* An administration and a congress that issue angry, patriotic, self-righteous political rhetoric over the firing of ballistic missiles from North Korea, and yet, passively and silently, know and conceal the fact that nuclear/biological/chemical contaminants and weapons can even more easily find their way into this country in a suitcase carried across our unguarded southern border.

* An administration and a congress that continue to demand that European citizens who wish to immigrate to America wait for years in order to legally enter our country, and yet seek to grant citizenship and/or privilege to the millions who have ignored the rules of legal entry, and who arrogantly demand all of the benefits that citizenship entails.

* Knowing that there are hundreds of thousands of American bodies lying beneath headstones at Arlington National Cemetery, at Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Flanders Field, Ardennes, Normandy, Florence, Lorraine, Aisne Marne -- in cemeteries throughout Europe, in unmarked graves in unknown places -- all of whom embraced the vision of freedom, law and justice that embodies the real America … and having a political opportunist like Karl Rove desecrate their incomparable sacrifice by cavalierly declaring that ‘Hispanics, and all immigrants [legal or illegal], are real Americans.’ ‘Real’ Americans to whom the phrase ‘shining city on a hill’ represents a place whose prosperity was forged through two-plus centuries of other men’s blood and sweat … the benefits of which the arrogant and lawless invaders intend (they demand) to enjoy without virtue, respect, responsibility, or sacrifice.

* Viewing as ‘racist’ or ‘intolerant’ those who decry the arrogant, parasitic, and anti-American sovereignty agenda of a radical separatist organization like La Raza, and the alien criminal element it champions, while pandering to the worst kind of genuine racism, if and only if it furthers a political end and the amassing of globalst/elitist power.

The concept of ‘fairness’ as envisioned by the Bush administration and the concepts of ‘liberty/sovereignty/justice’ as envisioned by our Founders are mutually contradictory.

The future of our sovereign republic rests on the ascendance, and accompanying demise, of one or the other.

Rove's Hispandering to "The race" makes me sick. He really kicked the legitimacy of the Republican party in the balls with that stunt. What's next, a stop off to a Hitler Youth camp?

Nothing like pandering to racists. With thanks to NRO for following the pandering Rove:

Rove Flatters Racists
NRO ^ | July 13, 2006 | John Derbyshire

Just been listening to Karl Rove's address to La Raza ("The Race"), the far-Left white-hating Hispanic lobbying group. You can hear the address here . It's 23 minutes and change.

It was pretty much WH boilerplate on immigration. "Hispanics, and all immigrants, are real Americans [So I guess illegal immigrants are 'real Americans'.] ... Mindful of the dignity and value of every human being... shared values... The President understands that immigration is a benefit for America... Current immigration system is broken [No it isn't. It just needs E-N-F-O-R-C-I-N-G]... Needs comprehensive solution... First, we must secure the borders [Five years after 9/11, we must secure the borders. Great idea!] ... The system's broken... Biometric ID card... All these measures will come to naught without a temporary worker program... Match willing employers with willing workers for jobs Americans will not do [And so long as the willing workers are Hispanic, I guess. Why shouldn't Chinese, Africans, Indonesians, Bangladeshis, Egyptians, etc. have a shot at being 'matched'?] ... Out of the shadows... We must address the status of the undocumented...

There was an odd little contradiction. At one point Rove seemed to claim that Mexicans just want to stay here a while to save money, to start a business in Mexico (which, said Rove, costs $5,000). Five minutes later he was talking about "Illegal immigrants who have roots in America... who want to stay..." What happened to those sojourning entrepreneurs, Karl?

And then there was the standard snow job on illegals "getting in line behind those who've applied legally..." Those who've applied legally, Karl, are waiting patiently **in their home countries** for the chance to come live in the USA. Some of them have been waiting for DECADES. If illegals are to wait in line behind them, then they too should go back to their home countries to wait. Seen from abroad, the great prize is not US citizenship; it's US residence. You are giving this tremendous prize away to law-breakers, many of whom couldn't care less about citizenship.

Rove's address included a long and implausible parallel between 19th-century Norwegian immigration (his own forebears were Norwegian) and present-day Hispanic immigration. "Norwegian immigration didn't occur without a backlash..." etc. The population of Norway in 1900 was 2.2m. Current population of Latin America: 470m. First rule of immigration: NUMBERS ARE OF THE ESSENCE.

The seems to be a lot of heckling and booing. Rove just talks right through it (making it hard to follow some of the address). He got a big cheer at the end when he mentioned Bill Richardson, though. Why? Because Richardson is half-Mexican. It's race, race, race. That's why they call themselves "The Race." My guess is that most of the people in that convention hall don't know where Norway is, and couldn't care less. As La Raza's sister organization Mecha says: "For those in the race, everything. For those outside the race, nothing." Race, race, race—-that's what these people are all about. This is an outfit the administration wants to court?

It is shameful, shameful and disgraceful, that a senior adviser to our Republican President should be truckling and pandering to these Hispano-racists.

Good summary of the FACTS that the elitists in Washington think they can shove down the throats of REAL American citizens -- Bush, and his liberal stooges are hard at work. It is tragic that our government has grown into a multi-headed monster that is not at all what the founding fathers intended a Constitutional Republic to be. They will continue to try and BLAME real Americans by trying to label them as "racists" and "vigilantes" when all they are trying to do is the job of the Federal government was elected to do.

Tragic elitist politcs is the order of the day in Washington and REAL Americans had better stand up to it. It is becoming more difficult, almost daily, to tell who the real enemy is of the REAL AMERICAN CITIZEN.

Background on the racist group La Raza:

NATIONAL COUNCIL OF LA RAZA

Suite 1000
Washington, DC
20036

Phone :202-785-1670

Largest Hispanic organization in the U.S.
Lobbies for racial preferences, bilingual education, stricter hate crimes laws, mass immigration, and amnesty for illegal aliens
Named as a key member of the Open Borders Lobby in the pamphlet The Open Borders Lobby and the Nation's Security After 9/11, written by William Hawkins and Erin Anderson
Principally funded by the Ford Foundation

Currently the largest Hispanic organization in the U.S., the National Council of La Raza (“the Race”) was established originally in 1968 as the Southwest Council of La Raza, for the purpose of “improv[ing] life opportunities for Hispanic Americans.”The group was initiated by a research project funded by the Ford Foundation. Today La Raza has more than 270 formal affiliates serving 40 states, and a broader nationwide network of more than 30,000 groups and individuals who reach at least 3.5 million Hispanics in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Notwithstanding this large base of support, more than two-thirds of La Raza’s funding comes from corporations and foundations, and much of the rest stems from government sources. Between 2001 and 2003, the Ford Foundation alone gave La Raza some $9.83 million, including a single grant of $8.05 million.

In turn, each year La Raza grants large amounts of this money to “Hispanic cornmunity-based organizations,” some of which are quite obscure. Of the $1.3 million it gave out in 1996, for instance, $126,000 went to El Hogar del Nifio, $9,000 went to Chicanos por la Causa, and $30,000 was earmarked for Cabrillo Economic Development.

La Raza’s politics are at the far left of the political spectrum. Its Policy Analysis Center lobbies for affirmative action, bilingual education, stricter hate crimes laws, mass immigration, and amnesty for illegal aliens. La Raza characterizes increased immigration control as a violation of civil rights, and the reduction of government handouts to immigrants as “a disgrace to American values.”

La Raza was a signatory – along with more than 120 other leftwing organizations – to a 2000 campaign to increase the minimum wage. La Raza was also a signatory to a March 17, 2003 letter exhorting members of the U.S. Congress “to oppose the Domestic Security Enhancement Act (DSEA), also known as ‘Patriot [Act] II,’” which was then under consideration. These signatories stated that the new legislation “fail[ed] to respect our time-honored liberties,” and “contain[ed] a multitude of new and sweeping law enforcement and intelligence gathering powers . . . that would severely dilute, if not undermine, many basic constitutional rights.” In addition, La Raza has given its organizational endorsement to the Community Resolution to Protect Civil Liberties campaign, a project of the California-based Coalition for Civil Liberties (CCL). The CLL tries to influence city councils to pass resolutions creating Civil Liberties Safe Zones; that is, to be non-compliant with the provisions of the Patriot Act.

La Raza has also endorsed the December 18, 2001 “Statement of Solidarity with Migrants,” which was drawn up by the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. The statement called upon the U.S. government to “[r]ecognize the contribution of immigrant workers, students, and families, and [to] end discriminatory policies passed on the basis of legal status in the wake of September 11”; to “[g]uarantee and provide relief to the loved ones of the victims and those unemployed in the World Trade Center attacks, regardless of immigration status, without intimidation or threat of deportation”; and to adopt “the Plan of Action from the 2001 UN World Conference Against Racism, Xenophobia, and Related Intolerance” – which was largely a forum for angry anti-American and anti-Israel tirades.

Furthermore, La Raza endorsed the Civil Liberties Restoration Act (CLRA) of 2004, which was introduced by Democratic Senators Ted Kennedy, Patrick Leahy, Russell Feingold, Richard Durbin, and Jon Corzine, and Democratic Representatives Howard Berman and William Delahunt. The CLRA was designed to roll back, in the name of protecting civil liberties, vital national-security policies that had been adopted after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

La Raza is also a sponsoring organization of the Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride Coalition, which seeks to secure ever-expanding rights and civil liberties protections for undocumented workers, amnesty for illegal immigrants, and policy reforms that diminish or eliminate restrictions on immigration.

In addition to the Ford Foundation, La Raza also receives funding from: the American Express Foundation; the AT&T Foundation; the Carnegie Corporation of New York; the Annie E. Casey Foundation; the Fannie Mae Foundation; the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; the Joyce Foundation; the W. K. Kellogg Foundation; the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation; the Open Society Institute; the David and Lucile Packard Foundation; the Rockefeller Foundation; and the Verizon Foundation.

Please post what, if any, reporting on Rove's speech to LaRaza, was negative?

The only coverage I caught was an interview with O'Reilly and Malkin in which the part I heard, O'Reilly said the name LaRaza was no big deal.

Top White House adviser Karl Rove traveled to Los Angeles this week to pay homage to the anti-immigration enforcement lobbying group for Latinos: the National Council of La Raza.

"La Raza" is Spanish for "The Race."

It's bad enough the White House lent its prestige to The Race's annual conference. But did you know the Bush administration has forked over millions of federal tax dollars directly to The Race?

According to GOP Rep. Charlie Norwood of Georgia, The Race snapped up $15.2 million in federal grants last year alone and more than $30 million since 1996. Undisclosed amounts went to get-out-the-vote efforts supporting La Raza political positions. The U.S. Department of Education funneled nearly $8 million in taxpayer grants to the group for a nationwide charter schools initiative.

Among The Race's most infamous government-funded charter schools is La Academia Semillas del Pubelo, the Los Angeles public school that teaches "Aztec math" (ancient dot math is the new math) and the Mexican indigenous language of "Nahuatl." The ethnic separatist principal of the school, Marcos Aguilar, told a sympathetic UCLA interviewer:

"We don't want to drink from a White water fountain, we have our own wells and our natural reservoirs and our way of collecting rain in our aqueducts. We don't need a White water fountain…We are not interested in what they have because we have so much more and because the world is so much larger. And ultimately the White way, the American way, the neo liberal, capitalist way of life will eventually lead to our own destruction."

The mere fact that Rove appeared (with Bush's approval)at this blatantly racist/sepratist group is or should be an insult to each and every American Citizen! Rove plans to pander to all of these "now illegals" will soon register to vote and Vote Republican as well.

I understand that even my local Senator Brownback was slated to appear for panding towards the soon to be not-so-illegal alien voters. Presumably, Brownback believes that he will get enough of the illegal votes for the 2008 Presidency, that will put him into the Oval Office.

Sammy Boy, you first have to WIN the Republican Primary (or do you also expect that many of these La Raza supporters will be able to vote for you in that Primary too?)

Yes, for the most part I agree. Which is why I am asking if anyone heard anything other than what he had to say. Surely there must have been other MSM reports on this? Or was it ignored in favor of pandering to the illegals.

By Rovian logic, Mohammed Atta and his friends, mostly here illegally, were real Americans. Rove should make sure their relatives are getting Social Security payments and free medical.
