Not particularly surprising, but noteworthy nonetheless.
58 charges were filed against Kent and Jo Hovind. They will be arraigned on Monday.

He never read the "give unto Caear that which is Caesar's" part.

Ol' Kent doesn't believe in evolution. Now we know why.

Another so-called "pastor" who never got around to reading Romans 13:1-5.

Before anyone blindly steps up to defend Hovind, please read the entire article.

He's one of the major players in advocating six-day creationism, he owns & built an entire theme park devoted to dinosaurs. I used to read one of his books all the time as a kid. He's also just about the least scientifically conscientious, so combine that with his sheningans, he's become the favorite whipping boy of evolutionists.
I think he's kooky enough that he didn't have criminal intent, since I've heard that he lives in relatively modest dwellings.

Although I am not evangelical, I hate it when they splatter that religion of the individual in the headline. I mean every religion have people who have made mistakes or worse. If these are true than he should get what he deserves, if not...leave him alone.

Doesn't he just? Sad business, really. A guy who has deceived so many people about evolutionary theory, and in the name of his deity, too.
Faith is a wonderful thing, but nobody should have faith blindly. Before attaching one's faith to the teachings of anyone, it's a good idea to see whether that person deserves it.
Kent Hovind, apparently, is not such a person. Never mind his tax evasion. There is a long list of idiotic things he has said on many subjects. He's a tinfoil-hat-wearing, certifiable nutcase.

Well, not exactly. He uses the religious argument in his belief that he needn't pay any taxes. He is, apparently, a church, and everything he has belongs to that church.
The IRS, obviously, disagrees with him.
He says lots of nutty stuff. There's a nice list of his nonsensical statements on everything from DDT to UFOs over on yesterday's thread. I won't duplicate it here.

Oh goody. Another corrupt, false Christian providing the religion-bashers another opportunity to knock Christians again. Wonderful.

Pathetic. Apparently he never read the part "render unto Caesar what is Caesars, and unto God what is Gods.
