You should be asking "What's the matter with the Republican Party?"

===

And you think the DEMS will help on your issues?

Do you believe in cutting off your nose to spite your face?

It's the DEMS who are the ones who push useless spending.

The choice is Dems or Republicans. <

I think he's saying it really doesn't matter that much when it comes to wasteful spending.

It makes no damn difference. Although if you review spending, the Democrats look thrifty compared to our GOP led Congress.

This sounds like a psyop. The media is trying to convince the electorate that they prefer Democrats in order to shift opinion towards Democrats.

They want everyone to believe that everyone else believes the Democrats are better in order to create a peer pressure to vote Democrat.

I still think we have our work very cut out for us.

And, that we CANNOT AFFORD AS A NATION, FOR THE DIMRATS TO REGAIN POWER IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM.

REGARDLESS OF WHO'S RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.

"I still think we have our work very cut out for us. "

THAT is exactly the message we need to take away.

We must not be complacent, we need to work and get out the vote to keep a Republican Congress. Let's focus on 2006 first -- that election is a few months away.

Republicans are in jeopardy of losing their grip on Congress in November. With less than four months to the midterm elections, the latest Associated Press-Ipsos poll found that Americans by an almost 3-to-1 margin hold the GOP-controlled Congress in low regard and profess a desire to see Democrats wrest control after a dozen years of Republican rule.

It appears to me that Ipsos is out trying to influence public opinion some more.

From their mission statement:

Welcome to Ipsos

Welcome to Ipsos, a company of inquiring minds and passionate people giving a voice and shape to the thoughts of millions of individuals around the world.

We explore, probe and challenge conventional wisdom. We assess market potential and interpret market trends. We test products and advertising, and help our clients build long-term relationships with customers. We study audiences and their responses to various media. We measure public opinion around the globe.

We are an independent company whose sole focus is survey-based market research. Research rooted in reality.

I have my doubts as to a French marketing company being presented as a legitimate pollster.

Polls? Don't talk to me about polls. Polls are for strippers.

Republicans will turn out and vote. DemonRATS will stay home and wait for Free Stuff to happen.

The "Student Vote" will, as usual, fail to materialize.

Well, that settles it then. Dems are so far ahead that they don't even have to bother to campaign. Just stay drunk until November, my Dem friends!

A nine point difference? LOL, this is nothing. In June of 2004 the generic polling had the Democrats up by 19 points and we all saw what happened then. I also read somewhere that there is a built in 5% Democrat advantage in these polls so even a 5 point lead is as good as even. Personally as security is the issue, I believe the hotter the mid east gets and the more attempts at terror that are uncovered here the more the advantage swings Republican. This is happening even now since the polls previous to this had the Democrats up anywhere from 13-19 points.

"almost a quarter of conservatives _ 24 percent _ said they will vote Democratic."

That must be the people on FreeRepublic who openly campaign for Democrats.

You are 100% correct. The left has been using the biased polling they commission as a campaign tool for years.

What about Zell Miller? :D

What about him?

His rating put him in Olympia Snowe territory and would you be eager to run out and vote for her cheering all the way?

It is a matter of what background you put them against. Put Zell against other Dims and he looks good, put Snowe against other Republicans and she looks bad. You put them together and it's hard to tell the difference.

A friend of mine works in this field.

She says to not believe any poll regardless of the outcome.

She says that the polling works something like this.

The polling company contracts with a party to run the poll and asks what type of outcome they want. They then poll people at random and keep polling until they get the results the client wants.

For instance, in this poll it states that the percentage is based on the answers of 1,000 individuals. What they do not tell you is that they actually polled 3-4000 people and used the responses from the 1000 people needed to come up with the result they wanted.
