Less than four months before Election Day, the latest FOX News Poll finds that voters strongly favor the Democrats on key issues such as the economy and gas prices, and give the minority party a double-digit lead for control of Congress this fall. For most of President Bushs second term in office, more Americans have said they disapprove than approve of his job performance and that is again the case in this new poll.
The presidents approval rating dropped to 36 percent, down from 41 percent approval two weeks ago and 40 percent in mid-June. Bush lost ground this week among some key constituent groups, such as Republicans, whites and men. Overall, 53 percent of Americans say they disapprove.
"It is important to remember that the president got his bounce after the killing of al-Zarqawi in Iraq," comments Opinion Dynamics Chairman John Gorman. "While administration officials were careful not to overplay the significance of this, it naturally created hope that things would get better. Several weeks of bloody footage from Iraq have pretty much dashed those hopes."
Despite the negative views on the job hes doing, Americans believe President Bush has had a tough job assignment. A 61 percent majority including 48 percent of Democrats, 62 percent of independents and 75 percent of Republicans thinks Bush has had to face a larger number of difficult situations than most presidents deal with during their terms in office.
Americans think the most important issues facing the country today are Iraq (21 percent), the economy (11 percent) and health care (10 percent). On each of these, Democrats are seen as the party that can do a better job

What does that mean? The republicans and democrats both want lower gas prices and a strong economy. The democrats have no plan to achieve either. How can people be on the "democrats" side of issues that don't have two sides?
I'm with you. When I watch FNC at all, it's either to watch Brit Hume, or something special that I know is coming on.
None of that matters if you fear for your life.
You're going to get flamed, all right. Anything less than orgasmic jubilation about high gas prices is unacceptable, I've found.
If this is is any way true it is because stupid people continue to be confused by the confused democratic party.
Fox is part of the MSM, and the MSM is the enemy at this point in history. Fox is certainly drifting to the left more and more every day, IMO. Fox polls seem to be more and more geared towards "bad news" for President Bush and conservatives in America, and although I still have a hard time believing such polls truly reflect the opinions of the majority of Americans, it's getting harder and harder to dismiss such as drivel.
It seems we are destined to prove that we are stupid enough to give the Democrats/Liberals/Progressives/Socialists/Communists control of our government once again. If we can't learn from our mistakes, we deserve nothing less than to suffer from making the same stupid mistakes once again.
There is ONE real issue: Bush's ability to replace one more brain-dead Liberal on the Supreme Court with a conservative before Jan 20, 2009. Everything else is secondary. If the Dems take the Senate this fall, it's over.
Yes, they do have "a plan".....
"look at those fools; we're gonna tax the crap out of 'em...." ---Fritz Mondale
So tell me, what EXACTLY, is the Democrat's plan to reduce the cost of gas at the pump? What have the Democrats been offering as a plan to reduce the cost of gasoline that Republicans or others have simply ignored so the little guy gets shafted?

Bush Job Approval July 12, 2006
900 people Polled
40% declared themselves Democrats = 360 people
34% delared themselves Republians = 306
21% declared themselves Independents = 189
6% declared themselves neither/dk = 54
______
[Margin of error] 909
So, let's have a poll based on MORE people
and ONLY of the two parties! THEN, if the
Dems indicated the majority of opinion, the
Headline would be accurate. As it is, the
only conclusion is that a MAJORITY OF DEMOCRATS
were POLLED!
UP, DOWN, UP, DOWN...WHO the heck CARES?!! They hype poll numbers like a zit that never goes away!!
lol
We need the underlying data.
My guess is that Murdoch is again tyring to excerise restraint on "fair and balanced" as he hedges his bets in the next election cycle.
I have decided that many, about 40%, of Americans are blithering imbeciles. About the same percentage don't care.
That leaves 20% with any clue.
Bush and the GOP are awful on the economy. They need to take credit for it, yet not a word.
