July 13, 2006 -- BALTIMORE - In one of the strongest indications he'll seek the nation's top job, Rudy Giuliani said yesterday he's "seriously considering" a run for president.
He made the comment at a fund-raiser for Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich's re-election bid.
He said he would continue to travel the country to gauge the breadth of his support and his ability to raise the money needed for a presidential bid.

How old is he?
TOO old...
Tom Tancredo is the only that is saying anything really exciting for me.
I would like to see him team up with former General
Tommy Franks
Rudy has been raising money and campaigning his heart out for Conservative candidates like Ralph Reed and Rick Santorum. He has been rising in polls, and drawing enormous crowds wherever he appears.
Rudy can count on me for a contribution and for my vote, should it come to that. Rudy is a strong leader, and the best speaker in America today. He would be a sure winner against any Dem candidate. IMO Rudy would be a great POTUS.
Rudy is 61.
Tancredo and Franks are great guys, but neither of them is presidential material IMO.
Rudy, as much as I like the guy, is NOT '08 material.
The whole point is that we want to shift from our moderate conservative to a less moderate conservative. If Rudy wants to serve our country, he should run for Senate, where his leadership and celebrity might actually be useful. He'd be absolutely useless as a President. He'd be fighting the right and the left every step of the way, and probably only serve one term.
And yeah, I agree with you. '08 should be a RINO-free zone.
:-)
just please study was Tom is saying ,
the rest of the pack seem like a bunch of phonies
and more of the same-ole...
We need leaders that will take and hold a hard line.
No fingers to the winds or knocking knees
I like Tancredo. I would vote for him if I lived in his state.
None of the candidates mentioned for the GOP top slot has the fundraising powers, the speaking and debating abilities, the crossover potential and the charisma that Rudy has. The only other one to come close is McCain.
please refer to the current poll running on this very website
If unborn babies had the vote, Rudy would never be a consideration for '08.
He cannot be elected president. The WOT is big. Terrorism must be fought and defeated, or at least winnowed down like the cancer it is. That any sane person must freely grant.
The big-picture cultural issues though, more abstract yet more pervasive, the ones many feel uncomfortable discussing, will get him in the primaries. His attitude on these is too cavalier, and I predict a more balanced candidate will sit atop the '08 GOP ticket.
Rudy, better than Clinton or Gore
Surely we can do better than the three of them?
"Rudy, better than Clinton or Gore"
Agreed. Like it or not, the most electable Republicans happen not to be strict social Conservatives at this time.
Sit it out at your own peril, since you're not just talking about a 4 or 8 year swing - but a 20 or 30 year swing when you think about SCOTUS nominees....IMHO.
The rights of the unborn are important to me, but when faced with the possibility that my grandchildren might grow up under sharia law - I'll hold my nose and choose Rudy over Clinton or Gore.
My opinion? The media is aware that the dems are in full meltdown mode and will tank the foreseeable elections so they are banging the drum for Rudy and McCain as hard as they can.
Rudy Giuliani is:
Pro-abortion.
Pro-gun control.
Pro-homosexual agenda.
Pro-illegal immigration.
If Rudy runs he will waste a lot of people's good money.
On a more current note:
There is no one in political life today who is a stronger, more consistent supporter of Israel than Rudy.
We live in a complicated world. Never forget how Rudy dealt with terrorists like Yasser Arafat, compared with Clinton and Carter.
Social issues are very important, but other issues will dominate in this election. Rudy is a lot more conservative than you think on issues of religion, prayer, and others.
