BOB NOVAK, My Leak Case Testimony: 'I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America'... MORE Published reports that I took the Fifth Amendment, made a plea bargain with the prosecutors or was a prosecutorial target were all untrue... MORE... My primary source has not come forward to identify himself... Bill Harlow, the CIA public information officer who was my CIA source for the column confirming Mrs. Wilson's identity. I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America'... I answered questions using the names of Rove, Harlow and my primary source... I considered his wife's role in initiating Wilson's mission, later confirmed by the Senate Intelligence Committee, to be a previously undisclosed part of an important news story. I reported it on that basis.

The question is what did the sources confirm... That Plame was Wilson's wife or that Wilson's wife got Wilson the job or both. Novaks source can not be Libby. If it were novak would still be under a gag order.
The question is, will Novak actually reveal his primary source on tomorrow nights newscast?
He is either saving the scoop for Fox.. or he is not going to reveal the name. He has said several times he would not reveal a name of someone who had not given him permission to do so. He also says he does not have permission to reveal the primary sources name. That leads me to believe that he will not reveal the name tomorrow.
One supporting fact. Where would you reveal the name if you were going to reveal it in your own column .. which is your mains source of income or on Fox which is not? Who would you want to please with increased readership or viewers? I would think the papers that carry his column would be very ticked if he revealed this on Fox. Perhaps enough to cancel his column.
But we will soon know.

Britt Hume just said during the closing of Special report, that Novak will be his guest tomorrow on Special Report. Maybe he struck that deal afterall, and we'll find out who the source was, tomorrow.

I think you are right...unless, the person, Armitage, according to Chrissy Matthews comes forward on his own.
On Chrissy's show, they said that Novak only talked about the CIA guy, and Rove because they both said that it was okay to reveal their names...but, supposedly (this is MSNBC after all)...the primary source has not...and Novak has said he won't reveal without his/her revealing it..or giving him permission.
At least that is the way I understood it on Hairball tonight.

I know it's difficult when news is breaking but it was mentioned in one of Drudge's updates. This came out a little at a time.
Brit said that the column isn't suppose to come out until tomorrow but was leakin' all over the place.
Obviously he's been doing the work that illegals won't do.
Apparently, Novak was the only person in DC that didn't know that Wilson's wife worked for the CIA.

In a column to be published on Wednesday, Novak said he told Fitzgerald in early 2004 that White House senior adviser Karl Rove and then-CIA spokesman Bill Harlow had confirmed for him, at his request, information about CIA operative Valerie Plame. Novak said he also told Fitzgerald about another senior administration official who originally provided him with the information about Plame, and whose identity he says he cannot reveal even now.Note Rove is mentioned first. And the primary source is mentioned passively and so inadvertantly that the casual reader would come away with the impression that Rove was the leaker. They never give up, do they?
That is right...I forgot about that...
But, remember, Kerry was "chosen" by the Dem biggies to be their candidate..because he was the "most electable", and we KNOW that Moveon.org was a hugh player in that election..
SO...I betcha work still may have come down from Soros to Kerry, to Wilson...

Quite untrue. It's a bigger story than just Novak's source, or the lack of one. What Novak has revealed is: 1) The source is not political 2) the source revealed the information inadvertently, and 3) the source and circumstances were known to the prosecutor.
This is actually fairly large, because people have wondered all along why Novak didn't have to go to prison to protect his sources. Now we know: Fitz could not prove any crime on the basis of the original story, and he knew it. He therefore used Novak's information as a back story for a fishing expedition, which he pursued through Miller and others.
In the end, he could prove nothing, so he took contradictory statements made by a person who is a conduit of an enormous amount of information (Libby) and manufactured a "crime."
Fitz is a POS, and now the whole world has the evidence of it.
It just doesn't get any better, does it?
I'd like to know who enchante's best bet is on...
Novak works for FNC now.
