According to CNET, the US Justice Department is giving the full Jack Abramoff to a bill sponsored by Sen Mike DeWine (R-OH) requiring all ISPs to build a dedicated info-structure for government eavesdropping. If this passes, yours, mine, and everybodys Web surfing will be fair and legal game for Big Blowhard to peruse.
What are its chances? 2006 is another election year soon to be tainted by Karl Roves with-us-or-against-us strategy. If he has his way by this fall, legislators who dont support the Bush Admns newest national security measures may as well show up at campaign events wearing a kaffiye. Because its not about the Constitution, or civil rights, or the land of the free and the home of the brave its about politics and winning.
FACT: The current FISA law provides more than adequate access to anyones deep dark secrets, digital and otherwise.
FUN FACT: With so many of his homies under investigation, Sen DeWine is the titular head of the most corrupt Republican political machine in the country.
FUNNIER FACT: Washingtonienne, Jessica Cutler (Caution: nasty-bits alert), posted her X-RATED blog from her computer in DeWines senate office.
SELF-SERVING PSA: This is reason number one why the NH presidential primary is essential to preserving our democratic traditions. Would-be presidents can run from the tough questions, but in a state this small, they cant hide. ~Jack McEnany
I hate DeWine more than anyone but I still gotta say it.
IBTZ.
IBTZ
Is this an IBTZ moment?
Damn!!!! Thought I was 1st, for once.
Live chow.
Joe, we hardly knew ye....
Heh heh heh
I stand corrected.
Blood in the water, feed at will.
LOL Dinnertime cats
You are odd. A troll, no doubt.
So sad - like lemmings running blindly over a cliff, the Dims from DU keep believing their own lies.

LloydBoy -- So, if I don't share your belief in the Great Sky God, then I'm not only a "secular liberal snob(s)" but a "bigot," as well. And look out -- my bigotry is driving the hoi-poloi into the arms of big friendly teddy bears like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell.
Apparently, in your estimation, they're not smart enough to make the rational choice to support their own better interests. OK, let's say you're right -- but what's clouded their judgement? Could it be the cult they belong to?
Do I need to remind you that teenage pregancy rates, incidence of divorce, and all the other "family values" you bunch like to wear on your sleeves, are higher in the Bible Belt than in the effete northeast? You even conflate secularism with an aversion to monogamy. Who's the bigot, LloydBoy?
God worship is the problem in this country, not the solution. And non-believers who accomodate primitive belief rather than take on the bully boy christo-fascists, do a disservice to the future of the Republic.
If in your view democracy is merely the mechanics by which political hacks grab power, then by all means take the cynical, hypocritical, Rovian approach. But don't blame the current situation on rational, peace-loving secularists.
You took this seriesly?
Hit the road troll. No one is interested in the deranged musings of a swamp fever lefty. You people rant like idiots and think you're compelling. Americans see you for the crazed fools you all are. Keep foaming at the mouth. November will be great for the GOP. And IBTZ.
Guess what?
Anything you post on the internet is not private. It is a public domain.
Only a complete fool or an idiot will post compromising messages on any BBS or email.
Ring a bell?
I think its one of those computer generated rants.
FACT: The current FISA law provides more than adequate access to anyones deep dark secrets, digital and otherwise.
FACT: FISA laws allow for warrantless survelliance as has been ruled by the FISA appellate courts in many instances, and those who wrote the law including judges on the FISA panel say the president is well within his rights as head of national security to launch security related wiretaps without a warrant.
Keep whining about FISA. Look at all the terrorist plots we're breaking up because we're keeping taps on these people. Did it ever occur to you that time is of the essence in such matters and if a call is coming in or going to a known Al Qaeda source you're not going to have time to run to the FISA courts?? Duh. Fool.
