PROTESTERS TRASH TIMES July 11, 2006 -- July 11, 2006 --
Dozens of protesters yesterday denounced The New York Times for disclosing details of anti-terror efforts by the Bush administration.
"Freedom of speech doesn't mean you can aid the enemy in a time of war," said Rabbi Aryeh Spero, one of the demonstration's organizers.
Organizer Beth Gilinsky told the crowd of protesters, who waved American flags outside the Times' West 43rd Street office, "Listen, you old gray lady," she said, using the Times' nickname. "You might as well drop dead and die."
The protesters criticized the paper for reporting about U.S. programs to trace terrorists' bank transfers and to monitor their phone calls from abroad.
"Twice The New York Times has published national-security secrets and hurt America in the war on terror," Spero, president of the Caucus for America, said.

Yee Hah!
Ping. Here's the protest, that you were referring to yesterday perhaps.
Osama showed to lend support to the Times:
As did his counterpart, Zawahiri:
But really, this quote summed it all up:
There were a few professional moonbats there, but they were inconsequential compared to us. In short, it was a very productive evening.
Did they say anything about the person(s) who gave the Times the secret information?
Then this one of the NY Slimes employees looking down from their lair..
Not really, no. This was directed more at the Times than the leakers themselves, though I imagine not one person there would have argued against going after the leakers as well.
Prosecute them both, I say. The leaker for revealing classified info and the Times for printing it. As Freedom of Speech is not absolute (think: fire in a movie theater) neither should be Freedom of the Press, and for the same reason.
If this had happened during WWII you can bet there would be quite a few people awaiting the firing squad...too bad we cannot get popular support for such measures today. Treason plain and simple!
The protestors did not trash the Times. The Time's editors trashed the Times. The protestor's merely brought the Mirror.
Were you the one on H&C last night? I saw the report.
No, I was not on H&C, although that would have been great!
It was my first protest so I was a quiet one. Other than being there and banging my wedding ring on the lamppost, I didn't say much, which is odd for me as I normally have something to say about everything lol.
I guess I was too busy taking it all in. It really was quite the spectacle.
Good! People are going to pay with their blood for what they did.
I will not call it aiding the enemy because to the editors and reporters of the NYTs we, The United States, are the enemy and anyone that wishes to destroy the United States is their frend. They were aiding and warning their friends.
I do not care what Neal Boortz or anyone else says, the NYTs should have its doors padlocked by the government and every reporter and editorshould be indicted, tried, convicted, and sent to prison for a long time for what they did.
Dozens?... Even with the PR push for the Post? Unbelievable.
Keep the pressure on these traitorous bastards and heads will eventually roll.
I wish I could partake of such a protest. The closest one I have seen or had the chance for was in 2000, and everyone loved my copy of FR's 'Sore-Loserman' poster. Here in NE TX, there aren't a lot of protests.
This is the first one in NYC to my memory. It is a bastion of liberalism, after all. Not a ton of freepers around here!
During the Clinton admin there were quite a few protests in NYC. Pretty much anytime Beelzebubba showed up in town. There was a big one in Times Square on a Sunday. Another big one in Newark, NJ circa 1999 when Clinton was fundraising for Sen. Torricelli as well.
