CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. The F-B-I will look into an online video that shows two men shooting a Quran with a military rifle and then leaving the bullet-riddled holy book at a Chattanooga mosque.
F-B-I agent Tim Burke said the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations asked the Justice Department to investigate the incident. He said no one from the Chattanooga Muslim community had complained.
Justice Department spokesman Eric Holland said the request would be reviewed carefully.
Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Islamic group, said the video may have been recorded in Chattanooga a year ago.
The video titled "kill the koran" was posted on MySpace-dot-com last month. It could still be seen on the Web site today.
A man on the Web site identifies himself as "mully88" and claims to live in Chattanooga. The author's profile lists as heroes (quote) "anybody that has killed a muslim or at least tried to kill a muslim." The site also contains slurs against Hispanics and blacks.
The video shows the man purchasing a Quran at a bookstore, going to a wooded area and shooting the book, then throwing it on the ground outside the door of the Chattanooga Islamic center.
Give me one and I'll show you a picture of it with what would appear to be a large brown stain on it.
LOL! I was thinking the same thing.

Why? What law was broken? If you shoot up a Bible and drop it off at a church do you think the FBI is going to come looking for you?
Or a crucifix in a jar of urine..... Oh wait, such things are supposed to be tax-payer funded. Silly me.
I suspect this is why the FBI is looking into it, not the shot Quran. Of course blaming it on the shot Quran makes a better headline I suppose.
I laughed, I cried, but mostly I laughed. In a sane world no one would care that some paper was shredded.

Guilty of littering at most.
North Koran or South Koran?
Honestly, I don't see the crime in shooting the Koran. There may be some kind of misdemeanor harrasment in dropping the book off at the Mosque, though.
What law was broken?
Their biggest crime was paying retail. Oy!
Why this is only "Freedom of Speech". What's the problem?
Still don't see the crime. The guy called his gun an M-16, but if it was, it was the slowest-firing automatic in Tennessee.
This is a waste of FBI resources.
Just noticed the mason's symbol on the ball cap. Nice touch, they can fuel the conspiracy theories as this travels al-jazeera as it will undoubtedly.
Since it was his property, it might qualify as a tax-deductible contribution.

and there they go demonstrating it for all the world to see right here in this thread.
