It may be a freebie for her with the base, but I gotta believe there are many senators who have known Joe a long time and who, even though they are Rats, are appalled at how he was used and abused by the Klintoon/Gore creeps.

I dunno. I'm not buying this story --- but not because it couldn't be true.

I agree with you: the problem here is she opened her mouth.

I was there - the guy with the beard that sang the National Anthem... my moment of glory!

Second-sign-up? Me too (I think?). I went to work for a company from 96 thru early 99, and first found the Drudgereport and then FR during lunch on the net while I was there. I cannot find any specifics though in my older folders... not enough backups when I've had computers die.
To: muffaletaman
I think FR started as a chatroom on CompuServ ~ but at some point it became accessible to folks on the internet in general. Big issue for a couple of years was whether or not Drudge was showing a link to FR.
Some of the folks who started it up are still around.

agreed, I think the article is misleading. This is no surprise that a dem will support the person who wins the dem nomination.
I think it is more surprising a dem is not supporting the current sitting Senator and previous dem VP candidate.

I still think it's a neat effect. Need to find some new 'people' to do it with.

That speech by Joe was simply a prop for Clinton during the Lewinsky controversy. He was trotted out there as the "Conscience of the Senate" and read the script provided for him.
I doubt that Hillary gives a whip regarding Lieberman one way or another on an emotional concern.

Very Good point!
O'l Joe turned on a dime to back AlGORE's ridiculous election era platform all to support Bubba's VP in the bid to keep the Whitehouse. It was most akward for Liberman to reverse many of his positions overnight. Now this is the thanks he gets.

Lieberman, as Hillary well recalls, took her husband Bill to task over the Monica Lewinsky scandal. His scolding of the President on the Senate floor saved the Crinton Presidency. He said what everybody was thinking and it took the wind right out of the impeachment sails. After the speech, the Senate thought it was time to move on.
