Mr. Guiliani as US Atty for the St of NY indicted mobsters and won convictions in Court. These were mobsters who had $500 an hour lawyer types. That takes debating skill. There ain't no way on God's green earth that Allen can stand up to that.

HIs debating skills turned a 30 point deficit against him in his race for governor into a 20 point lead. Yea, he must really suck.

I remember seeing Guiliani explaining in an interview the problem with sex business's on Times Square and 42nd Street. Up to that point I had taken a very libertarian view of such things. I have never heard an argument on any issue explained in such simple and persuasive terms.

I don't believe that any politician on either side can match Guiliani in a debate format.

Actually, during Mr. Giuliani's tenure as a Federal prosecutor he didn't win too many high-profile cases against mobsters. For example, every Federal case against John Gotti during Giuliani's tenure ended in either a mistrial or an acquittal. Gotti was convicted and sentenced to life in prison after Giuliani's career as a prosecutor was over.

That's not necessarily a knock against him, but it's the truth. When he was a Federal prosecutor most of his cases involved white-collar crime on Wall Street (including the case against Michael Milken that most people who understand SEC regulations rightly regard as a farce), as well as some infamous cases involving the kind of corrupt politicians that have been commonplace in New York City over the years (Stanley Friedman, Donald Manes, Stanley Simon, etc.).

Allen may be the nicest guy in the room, but, he lacks gravitas. Many times he looks and acts like a gawky teenager .
Physical presentation cannot be discounted-Bob Dole looked old , AlGore and Kerry looked like Frankenstein wannabes and Hillary looks like a gonad chomping, she demon from hell.
If Giuliani promises to appoint strict constructionists to the USSC in the likeness of John Roberts ( Giuliani praised Roberts to the hilt ),
takes a strong position on illegal immigration ( no amnesty , secures the border, etc),
fights for lower taxes and distinguishes between what he personally believes regarding gay marriage, gun control and PBA and what the majority of Americans desire, in addition to his position on the WOT-he would be unbeatable.
Giuliani / Allen, Giuliani/ Fred Thompson/ Giuliani/ John Kyl, Giuliani/ Hayworth are all combos that I would vote for in a heartbeat.
