WASHINGTON - Facing criticism, potential 2008 presidential candidate Joe Biden has been forced to explain his recent remark that "you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent."

On a recent edition of the C-SPAN series "Road to the White House," the Delaware senator is shown shaking hands with a man and boasting about his support among Indian-Americans.

"I've had a great relationship. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking," Biden said.

when ever there is a slip, politicians are quoted out of context.

Given the number of these, you'd think the libs would be in the MSM's as* to print retractions all the time

I hate people who use the whole "you misunderstood it" argument. I don't insult your intelligence, please don't insult mine.

...and the uber-liberals will be calling for his resignation when? Oh yeah...he's a Democrat so he gets a pass on this kind of stuff. My bad.

Looks like MSNBC is already started damage control for the Dems free of charge...I don't see a "Democrat" much less a "(D)" anywhere in the article.

That's is how it reads now. If Joe had been a Republican here is how it would have read:

Facing criticism, Republican potential 2008 presidential candidate Joe Biden, (R)-Delaware, has been forced to explain his recent remark that "you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent." as many question if he is fit to be President after the term of current Republican President George W. Bush has ended in 2008

And you're in Alabama. I thought it was only Texas motels being bought out by Indians. It's that smell of curry at the sign-in desk and sometimes also the little elephant statue that lets you know. But at least they are legal immigrants, so they're okay with me.

It's everywhere. I used to work for a very large hotel franchise system, and no joke, something like 40% of our franchisees were named Patel. It's hell for the database folks, that's for sure.
