Vision That Inspires Some and Scares Others: Aztlan [Armando Navarro, reconquista]
Los Angeles Times ^ | July 7, 2006 | David Kelly

Posted on 07/07/2006 11:41:24 AM PDT by lonewacko_dot_com

In the churning debate over immigration, there are perhaps no words as loaded or controversial as Aztlan, the name of the mythical Aztec homeland.

..."Up until recently I dismissed the idea as a kooky fringe element, but if you look at the demonstrations and see the flags and hear people chanting that this is stolen land and 'We are reclaiming our lost land,' it sounds more serious," said Ira Mehlman, spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, which supports tough immigration enforcement.

...UC Riverside's [Armando Navarro] said his research showed that in 10 to 25 years, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas and Utah will be 50% Latino.

"I call that re-Mexicanization, not reconquista," said Navarro, 64. "A new majority is forming. Everything will change. The White House will be within our reach. We might have to change the name to the Brown House."

...In David Horowitz's book "The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America," Navarro gets his own chapter. Horowitz writes that he "advocates the overthrow of the U.S. government by Latinos and reclamation of the southwestern United States by Mexico."

Navarro, in his office surrounded by photos of himself with Fidel Castro and former Nicaraguan leader Daniel Ortega, shakes his head.

"I never said that," he said.

Still, he tries to allay fears of a resurgent Aztlan.

"There is no reconquista conspiracy. I have no CIA — no Chicano Intelligence Agency. There is no evidence to suggest there is some secret plan," he said. "We are returning as a people to a place that was once ours. Does that mean I have dual loyalty? I was an officer in the U.S. Army for eight years. This is all a fabrication of fear mongers."

..."We are only doing what any good Jew would do for Israel."

Aztec homeland

The Aztecs - wasn't that the people who believed in human sacrifices and executed up to 20,000 men, women and children a year to appease the gods - lovely culture...

Good, our next couple of generations will need a real and close enemy to understand the goodness of Western Culture. We can drive these primitives back out of our country by force, as we did their culturally backward forefathers.

Just another case of history repeating....

No, but I predict a resurgent sense of cultural understanding and a defense of Western culture. It is not about color, it is about culture.

It is not about color, it is about culture.

Some folks just refuse to understand that.

Some refused to believe that the car would replace the horse or that the computer was the wave of the future. Those who refuse reality eventually end up a footnote on the pages of history.

Unless we kick out all the illegals. Then it will only be about 10%.

Hardly a majority.

What kills me about libs and the like that blame western culture for destroying and stealing foreign lands during colonization is that they fail to acknowledge the blood thirsty cultures that we eliminated. As if the Aztecs or any Indian tribe would not have destroyed Europe if they had had the technology to get there. If the Aztecs and Incas hadn't been so brutal the Spanish never would have received the help from other tribes to defeat those ruling tribes. The Aztecs and Incas were HATED by other tribes because their religions and customs were destroyed by them. Not to mention they were used as slaves and sacrificed ritually by the thousands.

'an officer in the US Army for eight years'. If true, scary.

Wonder if somebody could check on this to see if it is true or not.

"We are returning as a people to a place that was once ours."

If the Southwestern US were still a part of Mexico, it would just mean that Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Oklahoma, Kansas and Louisianna would be on the front lines of the illegal immigration and drug trafficing problems.

Typical uninformed statement from a borderbot but it is not surprising that you think 90% are illegals.

Hate to burst your bubble but there are tens of millions of people in those states who are Latino and who's families have lived in this country for generations. Some have been in what is now the United States long before the colonies on the East Coast ever existed.

Please, reconquistadores, consider Minnesota, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Washington, Oregon and some of the other Big Blues. They give out a lot more Free Stuff than Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. Winters are a little colder but there are all kinds of organizations to give you free clothes (although, I admit, they're usually pretty lame). Medical care and education for the kids are free and high quality. Get jobs "off the books" so you don't have to pay the high taxes the gringos do. You'll like it, I promise!

Minutemen's experience with Navarro and his gang:

Sent: Monday, July 18, 2005 2:26 PM Subject: BULLETIN! Reinforcements needed in Campo, Ca.

Dear Americans,

Reinforcements are needed in Campo, Ca. immediately to support Jim Chase's California Minutemen, who have deployed for border observation and reporting activities from July 16 through at least August 7 (and beyond).
I visited Jim Chase's group, accompanied with a California state senator and his aides, last Saturday. We witnessed the literal seige of VFW Post #2080 by about 60 belligerant, death-threatening anti-Americans twice during that day. The hate-spewing members of the racist, American-hating organization known as the Mexican brown berets, stormed the VFW Lodge, damaging signs and other property. They were eventually repelled by the late-arriving San Diego County Sheriff's Dept. No arrests were made.

The California state senator and his aides took serious note of the hostilities and violence conducted by the Nazi-like, anarchist brown berets. Americans...these goons are incurably evil and have a history of routinely suppressing the First Amendment rights of Americans
through acts of violence and threats of death.

Our First Amendment rights of freedom to peacefully assemble and speak are in serious jeopardy, and it is time a stand is taken to preserve these rights.

The rampage was orchestrated by Armando Navarro, a known anti-American racist, who holds a comfortable, taxpayer funded, tenured position as a professor (of hate and blood-letting?) at the University of California - Riverside, Ca., and who has devoted his life to promoting the Mexican conquest of the seven southwestern US states. He calls for the conquest to be carried out by force, if necessary. Navarro, and his minions whose combined IQ was that of a dead house plant, all appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

One California Minuteman volunteer, Jim Woods, was physically assaulted by a gang of ten of Navarro's thugs as he sat in his car alone at a border outpost. He was physically restrained in his car seat by the brown berets, who threatened to kill him. They stole his
keys from the ignition and left him stranded without food or water for several hours. When Jim Woods identified two of the gang members to the Sheriff's Dept. and asked for an arrest, no action was taken by
the Sheriff's deputies. One deputy just responded to Mr. Wood's plea for help with "Oh, you just lost your keys," despite repeated pleas to the contrary from Mr. Woods.

I am returning to Campo this week. Volunteers from anywhere in the United States are welcome to join me as soon as possible. Two minuteman groups from Texas have already committed to arrive this
week. I am also requesting reinforcements from Chris Simcox's Minuteman Civil Defense Corps in Tombstone, Az. and from select members of another well-known California border watch group that operates independently from The Minuteman Project.

Navarro's anarchist's attempted to shut down, and trash, the VFW lodge because the lodge allowed thirsty and hungry California Minutemen volunteers to purchase food and water from its restaurant. Their
attempts to bring down the U.S. flag were thwarted by Jim Chase's California Minutemen.

Our goals here are twofold:

1. Protect the rights of ALL Americans to freely and peacefully assemble without being physically assaulted, or threatened with violence to maim or kill them by the mindless minions of the Univ. of
California's "Professor of Hate", Armando Navarro.

2. Protect America's war veterans at VFW Lodge 2080, in Campo, Ca. from being battered by literal thugs with clubs and to protect the property of that lodge from being destroyed.

3. Simultaneously, volunteers are forming to protest at the Univ. of Ca. - Riverside, demanding the ouster of Navarro from his department at a state funded institution, which Navarro has selfishly turned into a department of tyranny.

Americans, saddle up! Let's Roll! Contact California Minutemen in Campo, Ca. at 760-272-0525...asap. The VFW lodge address is 301 Sheridan in Campo, Ca."

Hate to nit pick . it's Bushbot. You will just have to be clever and come up with your own insult towards those who believe in border security. If there are 11 or 12 million illegals and there are 10,s of millions of legals folks from Hispanic backgrounds , does that mean there are 30 or 40 million here ?
