Rush Limbaugh's Dominican Stag Party
The Smoking Gun ^ | July 6, 2006 | Smoking Gun

Posted on 07/07/2006 7:39:13 AM PDT by RDTF

JULY 6--Rush Limbaugh was traveling with four other men--including the producers of the hit show "24"--when he was detained over a mislabeled bottle of Viagra found in his luggage during a Customs search. A Department of Homeland security passenger manifest shows that Limbaugh and his four buddies flew from the Dominican Republic on a Gulfstream IV jet owned by Premiere Radio Networks, which syndicates his radio program. Limbaugh returned to Palm Beach, Florida on June 26 with Joel Surnow, "24"'s co-creator and executive producer and Howard Gordon, another of the Fox hit's executive producers (Hollywood agent Jeffrey Benson was also part of the Limbaugh quintet). With all those guys in tow, it is unclear what Limbaugh needed with those 29 100mg Viagra pills. The passenger manifest was among several documents released today by the Palm Beach County State's Attorney in response to a TSG open records request. Included in the material released were a copy of the handwritten statement Limbaugh provided investigators after he was detained upon the discovery of the impotency drug. An affidavit sworn three days later by Limbaugh was also released. In that document, Limbaugh explains that the Viagra "was intended for my exclusive use" and that the drug had been prescribed in the name of his drug treatment doctor, Steven Strumwasser, "to further maintain and protect my privacy." The viagra search was a bit heavy handed, but the defense of Rush here is a bit cult like.

Limbaugh is just another radio hack who happened into a niche, exploited it, became very rich, completely changed, became a limosene conservative, a drug addict, and he still pretends to be just a normal guy on his radio show, then gets driven to his corporate jet to go play golf at some resort.

So much of talk radio is a joke, its like professional wrestling, just a show, a gimmick. But some folk believe it all.

FWIW, an acquaintance of mine who lived in the Caribbean for many years told me the DR has a huge sex tourism trade. He had no axe to grind regarding Rush, and that was his first comment when this news broke. The sex trade is 100% LEGAL there.

Rush is a grown-up, and this is just part of the ongoing public campaign to belittle him. I admire him for, uh, standing up to the strain.

Rush should sue the smoking gun for invasion of privacy.

How is publishing public documents an invasion of privacy?

'How is publishing public documents an invasion of privacy? '

It's incredible. Do you think Rush hypnotises these loons? I agree with your earlier observations about Limbaugh. Only in America, could such a windbag become a star. No wonder, Jerry Springer left England.

'Even these so called talk show media types are full of misinformation.....all idiots.'

I agree that talk show host Rush is an idiot.

Speaking of which - There was this fellow that was thinking about saying a novena with the intention of getting a Lexus. But having doubts about whether that would be an appropriate thing to ask for in a novena, he asked a Dominican priest for guidance. The priest answered: "Ah yes, a novena, a wonderful prayer. But what, pray tell, is a Lexus?" So he asked a Jesuit priest, who responded: "Ah yes, a Lexus; reliable, stylish, a well built car. But what, pray tell, is a novena?"

It worked fine till he ran into a customs agent with a agenda.

Rush should sue the smoking gun for invasion of privacy.

He would end up losing and giving them more publicity. He should just ignore them.

you sound like every light weight talk show host who tries to be the unRush conservative.

It is not cult like to respect Rush's talent and the fact he is good because he actually believes what he says.

He did not "happen" into a niche. Conservative comentary is not a niche, it is the WHOLE MARKET. Rush simple did what the MSM refused to do. Rush exposed the fact there is a CONSERVATIVE MAJORITY in this country.

You seem to believe the DUmie talking points quite well.

the limosine liberal is a term that exists for rich performers who want everyone else taxed up the wazoo but they want to keep their afluent lifestyle. Ala rosie odonuts guns for no one but me and my security guard.

His positions are documented for years. There are even left wing groups which obsesivly listen and transcribe his show every day.

You hit and run comments bely your jealousy.

HIPPA

Florida's Privacy Amendment
Florida's Medical Privacy laws (recently upheld by the FL SC)

of course if this came from the customs department then it is FURTHER evidence of a compromised security at the Palm Beach Airport.

'he is good because he actually believes what he says. '

Just as well because a lot of people don't believe anything he says.
