The Saddam-Osama Connection: The Terrorist Testimony
FrontPage magazine ^ | 7-07-06 | Mark Eichenlaub

Posted on 07/07/2006 6:31:15 AM PDT by ikez78

One of the pillars of the argument that there were “no links between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda” is that the captured/defected members from both sides have denied any relationship existed. (The Left makes this claim even though most of the detainees’ interrogation logs remain classified and their contents remain on a need-to-know basis.) This “no connection” claim has been made a number of times, and those making it generally receive favorable media attention; they’re rarely if ever confronted with testimony that conflicts with their argument. I will not argue on behalf of the truthfulness of former Ba’athists and al-Qaeda members, but if their testimony is going to admitted, shouldn’t critics also hear the testimony of those in custody who tell a different story?

Nothing to see here, move along please.

I can't hear you, na, na, na, na.

You'll never convince these people of a connection, they'll claim is is all fabricated.

Thank you. I do think it's rather arrogant when commentators pretend to tell these al Qaeda terrorists and Baathists that they know more about what those two were doing than they do themselves.

On another thread, George posted a great link where Hitchens's bitch slaps the little Marxist Homosexual Pimp, Ron Reagan with another joining of international Islamofascist serial killers with Iraq before we knocked Saddam out of power.

this was pointed out to me in another (yahoo) forum. It is an index of translated Al-Q documents being studied at West Point, pertaining to the Org, goals, tactics, etc, most of which dovetail with the subj of your piece.

Thanks. I've reviewed many of those for a piece I have coming out soon.

I don't think Iraq was the only place that al Qaeda fled to after Afghanistan was liberated but it was one and it was the most dangerous (from our perspective) that al Qaeda terrorists could be.

"If you allow someone like Saddam Hussein to get nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles, chemical weapons, biological weapons, how many people is he going to kill with such weapons?

He's already demonstrated a willingness to use these weapons.

He poison-gassed his own people.

He used poison gas and other weapons of mass destruction against his neighbors.

This man has no compunction about killing lots and lots of people...."

Great stuff Ikez78. Thanks for your hard work. Keep it up!

I noticed your references was very lacking in MSM sources. I suspect they are uncovering similar connections. However, since this does not fit their template, they are killing it. What are your thoughts?

I talk to people from the AP, WashPost, NYTimes and LATimes regularly about Iraq, al Qaeda and other stuff. Usually they have no problem exchanging ideas.
When it comes to this topic there is a wall, they just won't discuss it other than to say it's impossible that there was a relationship. They have zero interest in this story unless evidence came out to PROVE the two were working AGAINST each other.

Normally, I wouldn't believe that reporters were that biased, but since I see it firsthand, daily I have no other conclusion to reach.
