Speaker of Iraq's National Assembly Mahmoud al-Mashadani in a meeting with the representative of the Jurisprudence in Khorasan, Ayatollah Abbas Vaez Tabassi, here Thursday said that the major goal of the arrogance in occupying Iraq is to create a 'great Israel' in the region.
In a meeting, held at the meeting hall of Imam Reza's (AS) holy shrine, he said that this is while some politicians mistakenly led to believe that the US and other despotic powers attacked Iraq and occupied it to topple Saddam Hussein and lay their hands on its oil reserves.
"Saddam was appointed in Iraq by the US itself to help it materialize its arrogant goals. Now the US intends to assign another substitute in Iraq who will continue working towards its goals and will promote American culture in the region.
"Today, some of the Iraqis involved in the campaign against foreign troops in the country make instrumental use of political plans and language, while others use weapons to fight with them," added the Iraqi official.
The Iraqi parliament speaker said that given Israel's failure to achieve its goals in Palestine, it has invaded the Gaza Strip, adding that the US, Israel and their agents are determined to prove that Iraq's national reconciliation plan is not successful.
He called on Iran's government to include participation in Iraq's reconstruction, including that of Sunni mosques, on its agenda to thwart the growing threats and plots of the US in this country.
For his part Vaez Tabassi referred to the Greater Middle East plan as one of the vicious goals of the arrogance in the region.
The representative of the jurisprudence in Khorasan called all Muslims to unity against the hostile policies of the arrogance, adding that Iran makes no distinction between Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq's reconstruction.
Al-Mashadani and his entourage arrived in Tehran on Monday in response to the official invitation of his Iranian counterpart.
Iraq's parliament speaker is accompanied by the heads of Iraqi parliamentary commissions and representatives of various factions of the country's national assembly including Kurds, Sunnis, coalition group and some reporters.
He had earlier said that during his visit to Iran he aims to confer with Iranian officials on strengthening inter-parliamentary relations.
Works for me.
Mashadani, wasn't he the guy on zarq's speed dial?
One day.
I just got your name...
Me, too. Not like it's worth taking anything they say seriously, but don't you wish you could get across the point that if the US and/or Israel really had such nefarious designs, they would simply carry them out? If they were so darn evil, they could simply roll over those countries in about a week, mass@cre anyone who objects and set up shop? And does anyone doubt that if they had the military capability, they would actually do just that to their neighbors?
I see - it is the height of arrogance and evil for there to be a "Greater Israel" from the Nile to the Euphrates (a "fact" that is trumpeted by no one, BTW), but it is perfectly humble and moral for Islam to force the rest of humanity to convert, or kill them if they refuse (a real and true fact which all of the Islamofascist kooks - armed with guns, bombs, missiles, etc. - proclaim from the rooftops every chance they get).
Yeah, that sounds logical, moral and reasonable to me...not.
;-)
It's projection. If the Islamo-nuts had the military capability, they'd roll over Israel; they'd do what they accuse Israel of planning.
Great point.
