Sounds like a good idea to bring the Ol' Dominion back to it's roots. My friend hates Virginia and wishes he could move back to PA, which would be great.
Now, why in the world would these conservative Commonwealth Senators-hopeful choose to meet in a city like Washington, anyway? Shouldn't they be hosting a fundraiser like this in a conservative area? The Commonwealth does have a few more conservative towns than the District of Columbia... ;)
Because there's a lot more money in northern VA than the rest of the Commonwealth. If you want to fundraise, you follow the $$$.
I suppose that makes sense, though it'd still make more sense to me to host the event on this side of the Potomac. Of course, while there's tons of $$ up here for fundraising, I'd still question how much you could possibly get, considering how liberal the area overall has become.
Which part of the Old Dominion are you writing from? Hopefully a better part than mine. :)
Warmest regards,
~dt~
