On a sudden hush in the media (The left gets the heeby-geebies)

On a sudden hush in the media

By J.R.Dunn

July 4, 2006

Is it my imagination, or is there a sudden hush in the shrieking media barrage today? Was it only yesterday that the NYT and WaPo were roaring and thundering, month after month, at President Bush and the GOP—- to surprisingly little effect? Have we run out of phony scandals yet?

Where is the Bush = Hitler crowd?

To be sure, the Kossacks are still fussing in a corner of the web. And any moment now the heavy artillery of the Left may resume lobbing shell after exploding shell at the White House, the neocons, the Army, Navy and Marine Corps, not to mention Big Oil, Big Business and Big Fatty Food. It's all they know.

My intuition hints at something else. Has an email has gone out from Hillary's campaign? Has somebody run a panic poll?  Has Murtha been told to shut it for now?

Maybe the Democrats just got it—- that they have now defined themselves to lose the 2006 elections. The Democrat Party stands for open treason in a time of war.

Their house journal—- the New York Times—- has made it official, by publishing secrets that will surely end up killing US agents, soldiers and allies in the field. The next big terrorist attack will point the finger of blame at our domestic Fifth Column—- the media establishment.

Where will the next terrorist hammer fall?  Israel – London – New York City? Wherever it does, the guilty party is now beyond reasonable doubt in the eyes of millions of Americans.

Just to top it off, in a fit of  hubris the NYT has published the home addresses of Dick Cheney's and Donald Rumsfeld, complete with a photograph pinpointing a hidden security camera in Rumsfeld's driveway.  It is a plain invitation to terrorists and crazies: Go and kill these men. Here is where they live. Just drive a truck bomb past this house, or crash a private plane with half a ton of ammonium nitrate. Go ahead. We're pointing the way.

You know the reasons why—- we've riled you up, day after day, for six whole years. Now you know where they live.

We are protected by the First Amendment. We are above the law.

This administration's greatest gift is its enemies. The Attorney General could appoint a Special Prosecutor to ferret out the New York Times' spies in the CIA, State, the Pentagon, Congress. The precedent has been set by Plame-Wilson, first stoked by the NYT Editorial Page.

Spies can be sent to jail. Journalists can be jailed for hiding their sources.

My guess is that the Attorney General will never do it.

He doesn't need to.

All the administration needs is a thirty-second television ad in late September.

The screamers now don't care for anything but their own self-aggrandizement.

Precisely, Bill! They all are studying their options for a functionary spot in a 2008 "Democrat Administration" by trying to out-do their Kos-compadres.

Guess what? The mainstream media smokescreen has made them think they have any kind of chance at all.

But the actual America views them as stupid twentysomethings, as the actual America properly has viewed all twentysomethings throughout our history.

They will crash and burn, thereby learning the lesson of twentysomethings since time immemorial.

No matter how much the MSM tries to prop them up.

I agree on the +2 Senate, but I believe it will be +6 House. We're definitely on the same page!

Can't you just hear the wailing and knashing of teeth that will emerge from the Donks come November 8? After all, all of the pre-election polling will no doubt show them winning handily. I can already predict that they will conclude that the Republican victories must be due to dirty tricks, voter suppression and DIEBOLD.

I could always send in to bay buchanan as well. If she's not too busy counting her earnings from the referendum it might strike a nerve with her.

The photo of the soldier being led away in handcuffs was HUGE on the front page so no one could miss it. Disgusting.

Good article. The hush is a well timed pause during Independence Day / weekend. They were probably hoping terrorists would pick up their slack...they didn't want to look too obvious over the 4th.

I'm content to simply let you speak.

Your willingness to claim one result yet not respond to an article substantively that disputes your claim about the election with anything but childish insults, well, it speaks for itself about the strength of your contentions.

Thank you for helping derail your own argument. :-)

Yes...the libs were just re-loading ammo. I had Fox News on for a few minutes today, and the few libs who Fox could get to appear just used the Korean missile situation as an opportunity to attack Bush.

Liberals suck. With a vengeance.

Thanks for the link to the Slate article - according to them, both Bilbray and Cannon ARE strongly anti-illegal aliens. Good news.

Yeah, Larry King had a live show, and he had it stacked with mostly liberals, including Sandy Berger, Madeline Albright and other Clinton apologists. Of course, it was all Bush's fault...

The article supports my position perfectly.

Congressman Cannon and his people never billed the primary as a national referendum. It was the Tancredo PAC, bay buchanan and her people who flooded into Utah and tried to unseat Cannon while declaring the primary a national referendum on immigration. They pushed their referendum all the way up until the voters were counted and they discovered the voters just weren't buying their BS.

I don't think that the primary meant all that much except for the fact that Cannon was forced into a primary. The Cannons have been a force in Utah Politics for over a hundred years, my Great Grandfather voted for his Great Grandfather.

His brother is Chairman of the Utah Republican Party so I looked at the odds considering the district and Jacobs lack of issues other than immigration and gave him a +5, which in my rating system is the margin above or below 50% of the vote, see my post to Torrie.

The very fact that Cannon was forced into a primary is damaging to him.

Wishful thinking, my friend. In 2004, the Bush campaign ran an ad with 9/11 imagery, the Jersey Girls complained, end of ad. As usual, the gutless, spineless, balls-less crowd in DC bent over to the Dems.

I firmly believe that without the Swift Boat ads and the Rather scandal blowing up in his face (thanks in large part to Buckhead here on FR), Kerry would be President.

It sure as heck had nothing to do with the gutless wonders at the Bish campaign who let the opposition frame the terms of debate from Day One.

Hardly as damaging to him as it was to Team Tancredo and the buchanans.

To be sure, the Kossacks are still fussing in a corner of the web.

Huh? The Kossacks were freedom fighters, standing up to foreign invaders and had democracy going. What's the connection here to scumbag, treasonous RATs?
