"By his outstanding display of decisive leadership, unlimited courage in the face of heavy enemy fire, and utmost devotion to duty, 1st Lt. Chontosh reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service."
That's what the citation says. And that's what nobody will hear. That's what doesn't seem to be making the evening news.

I got halfway through the article and didn't see anything about America being evil so I lost interest and turned on American Idol.

Happy Declaration Day!
Thank you for bringing to my attention, Captain Brian Chontosh's heroic feats. It is awe-inspiring. It is comforting that this country is blessed with such men. Being a civilian's civilian, most of these important Military moments pass me by. Godspeed to Captain Chontosh, his family and his Military family.

"When he was done Brian Chontosh had cleared 200 yards of entrenched Iraqis from his platoon's flank. He had killed more than 20 and wounded at least as many more."
"But that's probably not how he would tell it. He would probably merely say that his Marines were in trouble, and he got them out of trouble. Ooh-rah, and drive on."
"We're going to turn out all right As long as men like Brian Chontosh wear our uniform."

Just in case you missed this, there is a former Hollywood executive who sold everything to be with the Marines for seven months in Iraq. He's making a 20hr documentary depicting the Marines and the untruthful antics of MSM. It is a wonderful read. I hope you enjoy the post, but it is excellent. Happy 4TH

The leftists would call this man a fool to sacrifice himself.

Thanks for the link to the Dollard post. His article was an absolutely gripping read. Once started, I couldn't stop. And mid-way through, I read the following sentence, and thought "he gets it; he really gets it":
The era of the morally ambiguous anti-hero is over. The era of the hero is in, and not for trendy reasons, but reasons of survival, and protection of our children, our systems, our freedoms.

I found the read gripping as well. And you are right about that particular passage. Let me repeat it.
The era of the morally ambiguous anti-hero is over. The era of the hero is in, and not for trendy reasons, but reasons of survival, and protection of our children, our systems, our freedoms.
Please pass this post on if you think it is worthwhile.
It's amazing that a former Hollywood executive, who describes himself as a former Hollywood pimp, is doing this. My loss in faith in Hollywood may have been premature. There is hope. Hopefully, his documentary will be seen by many and will be well received. And may be one day Heroes like Captain Chontosh will become household words a la Audie Murphy.

I don't have the words to express my respect and admiration for 1st Lt. Chontosh and all our service people. True heroes.
