10. John F. Kennedy's ambition. JFK displayed impressive Presidential leadership in three highly important yet previously unrelated areas. He enhanced American prestige as he inspired public support for space travel and exploration, despite steep risks, frequent failure, and high cost.

I can't believe "Bill Clinton's Libido" didn't make the list...

If it weren't for Republicans, Clinton wouldn't have made the list.

On a more serious note: Clinton did make the list for "apostasy" - In other words, one of the most repected presidential characteristics was Slick Willie's lack of a defining set of beliefs.

This list appears to be an attempt to white wash Clinton by putting him in the company of giants, or at least some very tall men.

Despite being derided (often correctly), as a collectivist populist, Mr. Clinton somewhat ironically is responsible for two of the most influential free-market reforms in American history, the Welfare Reform Act of 1996 and NAFTA.

I give Clinton credit for pushing NAFTA (with the Republicans)...but from my memory, Clinton was dragged kicking and screaming into Welfare Reform. And his VEEP said during the 1996 that they wanted to get rid of it, didn't he?

Clinton, other than NAFTA, was a poor President.

Glad to see Polk made the list. I'm not sure about JFK's ambition (which he never made good on) or Eisenhower's vision for the interstate highway system (you might as well give Hitler credit for that one--Eisenhower's vision consisted of recognizing a good idea when he saw one, regardless of whose it was).

I'm sure about JFK's ambition. He had none. If he hadn't been pushed into politics and then the Presidency after his brother died, he would have grown up to become Kato Kaelin.
