Grand theft Mexico
Guardian (UK) ^ | 7/03/06 | Greg Palast

Posted on 07/03/2006 4:18:41 PM PDT by Dane

As in Florida in 2000, and as in Ohio in 2004, the exit polls show the voters voted for the progressive candidate. The race is "officially" too close to call. But they will call it - after they steal it.

Reuters reports that, as of 8pm eastern time, as voting concluded in Mexico, exit polls showed Andrés Manuel López Obrador of the "leftwing" party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) leading in exit polls over Felipe Calderón of the ruling conservative National Action party (PAN).

We've said again and again: exit polls tell us how voters say they voted, but the voters can't tell pollsters whether their vote will be counted. In Mexico, counting the vote is an art, not a science - and Calderón's ruling crew is very artful indeed. The PAN-controlled official electoral commission, not surprisingly, has announced that the presidential tally is too close to call

Nothing is less becoming to the Left than their whining when they lose.

I heard a replay last week of Michael Medved asking Palast the same question. Of course he didn't really know much...Washington State is in Canada isn't it....nobody thinks your measly stolen gubernatorial election is relevant...yada-yada-yada.

Medved handed him his head after he ate Palast's lunch.

Palast is a classic definition of a mendacious reprobate.

I would hate to ever disagree with Medved. He has so much information.

But Washington is the usual model of a stolen election. Delay and keep counting until you "find" the votes.

It amuses me when the left insists on calling commies "progressives".

I will lie to any exit poller questioning me. I wonder how many others follow the same plan?

In a close vote, every voter would have to also vote in the exit polls in order to give the correct picture. IF all pollsters were honest.

We've said again and again: exit polls tell us how voters say they voted...

And I, for one, lie through my teeth to pollsters, as a matter policy.

They're not even going to wait for the final tally to be announced this time. This is going to get very nasty.

The last time I checked I discovered there was never a poll that is 100% correct. Never has been, never will be.

from radioblogger.com

Mexico election glossary.

*chad pendiente - dangling chad
*chad rizo' - dimpled chad
*chad encinto - pregnant chad

Maybe we ought to try that in Cynthia McKinney's district some time. Scare the heck out of her.

exit polls tell us how voters say they voted

Exit polls tell us how those voters that the pollster's decide to ask, who decide to answer, say they voted.

Most voters are never polled and most voters who are polled refuse to say how they voted.

. . . and above all, insist that the votes haven't all been counted unless you win. Like Gore in Florida in 2000.

Exit polls don't count absentee voters, many of whom are in the military, or running businesses, or earning a living away from their homes. They trend conservative.
