I don't know any conservative who votes for Democrats, or for a liberal who happens to sport an "R" after their name. The idea that voting for Schwarzenegger will advance the conservative agenda in California, is absurd. Such a decision only undermines the conservative agenda. A vote for Arnold is a vote for liberalism. California keeps heading in the wrong direction.

Exactly. I've thought about that numerous times, that they are trolls looking to divide the right (and often succeeding).

There are only two reasons to vote for Arnold. 1. To keep Angeledis from getting elected. and to give Tom a shot in the future.

He is soft and too quick to try to compromise with people who you can't compromise with, but still better than Angeledis.

Moderates aren't going to give you everything you want. But we're talking about California. Let that sink in for a moment.

California.

If you don't want to become like the Democrats, consider this. The Democrats have stopped running DINO moderates in the south because they want to let out big YEEAGHs, be themselves, stand up for principles, and so forth. As a result, the Democrats have gotten almost completely wiped out down there.

Republicans won't make the same mistakes in blue states. We do our best, even if it means voting for a RINO from time to time.

You're talking to the guy who refers to Republicans as "intolerant and bigoted" and "racist, intolerant brown-shirted totalitarians." Who is trying to divide?

I think our time could be better spent by you taking this opportunity to introduce us to your candidate, and reasons why we should consider voting for him or her.

Excellent.

The problem is, they are more than just "moderates". Look back about 5 years and you find all the major donors used to be registered other than Republican and were donating to Gore, et al. Folino is just one example. Burkle is another. Warren Hellman, another. The list goes on and on.

The Republican Party in California has been infiltrated by big-money "moderates" (i.e. ex-Democrats) who do not share the most basic principles of the party.

They lost their own party to the communists and now want to make the GOP their new home and jettison everything it has traditionally stood for.

Thanks, and it was a sincere question, I have no idea what her point is.

I know she hates Arnold, and I can speculate that her point is to not vote for him, but really I'm in the dark about what she is promoting.

>> I have no idea what her point is.

Then why don't you just ask me?

I contend that the only way to hold ANY politician in check is to monitor their performance and when they stray from their promises to vocally point that out and reel them back in. When Republicans complained about all the liberal judges he has appointed, he began to appoint a few more Republicans (still not enough, but better). Some on these threads believe any action undertaken by an (R) should not be criticized whatsoever. I think that is wrong--and dangerous. If we are to have 4 more years of Arnold, as our REPUBLICAN candidate, then he should at least support SOME of the Republican platform. If you expect nothing from your elected representatives, that is exactly what you'll get--NOTHING.

The fact is that we have moved further left under Arnold than we were under Gray Davis. Arnold needs to be reeled in.

>> I know she hates Arnold

NO. I do not "hate Arnold." I do have a strong distaste for his LIBERAL ACTIONS as I see them as destructive to the State in which I have lived for decades.

I'm for Tom McClintock also. ;-)

As to the Governor, I'm not FOR anyone. There simply is not a good choice.
Arnold is Awful. Angelides is more Awful.

No body knows but one thing is certain. He'll need odds.

He's starting with a 34,467 vote handicap in his own party.
