You're right, that is offensive. And well, stupid.
The "lost tribes" are not Jews. Jews (like my paternal great-grandparents) are from the tribe of Judah, from the kingdom of Judah. The lost tribes are from the kingdom of Israel, and are not at all Jews, being from, well, entirely different tribes than Judah. Tribes like Simeon and Reuben and Dan and Asher and Naphtali...
And frankly, hmm, how to address this whole "Jews with balls vs stupid Jews" thing. Let's just say this - pray that ALL Jews, regardless of geography, soon turn to the One True God, their God, YHWH. For that is the ONLY way they will be fully restored as a people. Oh, and not just "Jews" but all the tribes of Israel, wherever they are.
Easy answer: if you are a coward, you are not going to go anyplace with frequent suicide bombings, and where a tour in the military is mandatory. You prefer to live where you can be as nuts as you want to be without having to pay a personal penalty for it

I think it's the difference between the generation of Israelites who were delivered fro Egyptian slavery, and the generation who possesses the land.
It's more a question of external conditions. Look how few we conservatives are. It's a rare thing to remain lean and hungry in an easy society.
The descendents of the lost tribes are not Jews, although Jews will educate and lead them. They are the enormous numbers of people who will come from all of the nations before the last war, after which event, all who oppose Israel or seek to replace it will be put down.
