"Economic patriotism" is a load of garbage. It uses the symbols and language of patriotism to get people to buy substandard products that cost too much. Patriotism is fine; using the language of patriotism to justify and subsidize laziness is not.
Here's an idea: build better cars and charge less for them.

Many "American Made" products are now simply assembled from foreign parts.
If they did this for other goods like John Deere tractors and Boeing 787's, Americans would learn a lot.
